6 Months Already.......

With the beginning of July, is also the beginning of the realization that 6 months of the year have already passed. 6 months gone and 6 months to go gives me so much to look forward too... 6 months until Christmas. Enjoying of summer evenings on the patio with the hubby. Watching the garden grow and enjoying the benefits. Exploring the outside with the little one. Smelling the change in the weather when autumn arrives. Changing the flags on the house to coordinate with holidays. Going apple and pumpkin picking. A new sorority year beginning. New dance season for the little one. OSU football season starting. GO Bucks! Looking forward to vacation. New changes around the home. The list can go on and on.  Its a time to reset goals and enjoy each day as it comes. Savior each season and explore each new month and all that it has to offer. So right now I say Hello July and good bye to the old and hi to the new.

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had pizza and a movie with my little friend Ben.We watched Tron and Little Fockers. I was surprised that I really enjoyed both of them. The weather started to get stormy and I hurried home. I hate storms. Luckily, the hubby was home from work early. Saturday Attended my last sorority meeting of the year. I spent the day with one of my "besties" Bev. We went to lunch at "our spot" El Vaquero. We then did some window shopping and of course hit the Bath and Body Works sale.I think I did a little damage. Here is some of my hubby's hard work in the back yard. I must have did a little to much shopping, because when I got home I took a long nap.  Luckily, once my nap was done my husband was done working in the yard, so we were able to spend a little time together just vegging out. Sunday Attended my friend Bev's early morning service. I wish my church had an early morning service. Her  church service started at 9:45 am and I was able to  attend s...

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Went to line dancing class after work and worked up a good sweat. Stopped by my friend, Kim's house and talked to her for a few before heading home. Once I was home, I enjoyed a long hot shower and watched some TV before passing out. Saturday Got up and did some house cleaning, before going to work for a few hours. After work I did some grocery shopping, with my coupons of course, with my mom. After all that I guess I felt that I had not done enough already, I ended up helping the hubby in the garden and cutting the grass in the backyard. When I was done with all that, I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was take a shower and have some pizza. After eating and before going to sleep, I did catch some of the season finale of Saturday Night Live, and had a good laugh with Justin Timberlake. If you did not see this skit, check it out. Sunday Woke up not feeling very well, so I ended up staying home from church. After laying down for a while, I did some laundry (I...

The Last 30 Days of Me

I thought it was time to catch you up on what I have been doing the past 30 days.... Hung out all weekend with my sorority sisters at the annual NPHC weekend, which included a party walk competition in which my sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho won and picnic the following day. Hubby and I had our annual 4th of July party. We had a blast with our friends. Food and fun happened. I went with a red, white and blue theme, from red, white and blue popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels and red baked beans. Went to see the movie Eclipse. Loved it. TiVo and watched the movie, My Sister's Keeper and cried all through it. Our garden is growing well, except for a little issue from our neighborhood rabbit having a few snacks. We have actually have eaten cucumbers and some broccoli from the garden. I just can not wait for the tomatoes to be ready. Went to a National Black MBA association social with my gal pal Bev. We had fun, had some good drinks, nice cake and lovely conversation, but so...

See My Garden Grow

The garden is in. We have begun planting a few weeks ago. I actually helped more than I did last year. I helped turn the soil and plan the plants. I usually are only in charge of picking and cooking once the plants are ready. I kinda of enjoyed it, until I started sweating. My husband tried to call it "couples time", I guess. We planted the following: Cherry tomatoes Beefsteak tomatoes Roma tomatoes Green and red cabbage Butter lettuce Collard greens 2 types of broccoli Cauliflower My husband had purchased additional plants for the garden, but we ran out of space. Sometime this weekend we are going to have to extend the garden so that we can add.... Green beans More tomatoes Butternut Squash I have even tried to do a herb garden. I planted basil, thyme, sage and oregano. I really want to try to grow strawberries and pumpkins, I will see if he can make some more room for them in the garden.  These pictures are from the first week of planting. The plants have...
