Valentine's Day Wrap Up

Miss G. had her Valentine's Day party on Wednesday at the childcare since she only attends 3 days a week. She did enjoy some holiday treats with a heart shaped balloon and sucker after her morning doctors appointment. With all the recuperating from the holidays and all the bad weather we have been having  the hubby and I really have not had a date night, so this was the perfect opportunity. I decided to take the whole day off since the little one had a doctors appointment in the morning, which also allowed us to go early enough to beat the crowds. We went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and amazingly only had a 15  minute wait. I am glad we got there when we did because it wait was almost 25-45 minutes when we were being seated. It was nice having a meal, without having to order for someone on a kids menu. When we were leaving the restaurant, it was snowing, of course. Then I received an alert on my phone that we were under a level 1 snow emergency, but I ...

Weekend Sweeps

Friday We had our annual 4th of July party. It had rained most of the week  and even rain Friday morning and I was worried it was going to be a wash out, but it dried up and weather was great by 2:00pm. It was really nice since  as always to be around friends, but it was really nice since Miss G has some playmates to run around the yard with. Old friends mixed with new friends made for lots of fun. I even had a grown folks moment and stayed up talking to some girlfriends until 2:00am. That has not happened in a long time. Saturday The family and I relaxed all day by taking long naps and eating leftovers. Hubby and I had a date night planned later on that evening with some other couples. We started we a happy hour where I had the yummiest mango rum ( I am so getting some this week). We went to see Aries Spears at the Funny Bone comedy club and I think I laughed the whole show. I really enjoyed myself having a grown folks moment. Sunday Went to church. Came home and just...

Sunday Inspiration..Happy Father's Day

A man's children and his garden both reflect the amount of weeding done during the growing season. ~ Anonymous Happy Father's Day Hubby!!  quote

Miss G is 3 Months

Size of Miss G.:  At the last doctors appointment, Miss G. was  10 pounds 8 ounces. She was 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor stated that she was in her 50% and right on track. She goes for a doctors appointment at the end of the month so we will see how much bigger she has gotten. Clothes: I realized last week that her newborn clothing is snug. She is currently wearing some 0-3 months but most wearing 3-6 months. She is still wearing size 1 diapers.  Movement: She discovered her hands this past week. She is always putting them in her mouth or has them crossed on her chest.  She has been trying to pull herself up as to try to sit up on her own. What a big girl. She has lots and lots of smiles for us. She has been smiling alot and giggling. It is so cute and make us smile alot too.  Baby stuff: She still has a few spots of baby acne but most of it has cleared up.  She loves to splash during her bath time . She has always been a spitt...

Miss G. is 2 Months

( Sorry folks not sure about sharing her totally on the internet yet) Size of Miss G.:  Miss G. is currently 10 pounds 8 ounces. She is 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor stated that she is in her 50% and right on track. Clothes: Her newborn clothes are becoming a little snug. She is still where some of them but mostly she is wearing 0-3 months, even though the 3-6 months are still a little big on her. We have moved from newborn diapers to 1's. The newborns with turning into bikinis or baby thongs on her. Movement: We just started tummy time and I am not sure if she really likes it. She does try to hold her head up when we do it. She wiggles when you hold her. Her father and i enjoy making her dance ( for our own enjoyment). Baby stuff: She currently has cradle cap and baby acne. I think that I have pretty well with getting most of the cradle cap by massaging her head with olive oil (which she seems to like) then brushing it through the dry patches before washing ...

To Cloth or Not To Cloth?

gDiapers I would like to try using cloths diapers for Baby J. I was referred to this system call gDiapers since they have flushable inserts or you can use cloth inserts. The hubby is not to sure about using the cloth diapers, so I will have a supply of regular diapers in the house as well. Every time I say I want to try cloth diapers to my friends who are parents, they either look at me like a deer in headlights or chuckle at me. I just want to give it a try, what do you think? If you have a baby or had a baby did you use cloth or regular diapers?

Weekend Sweeps

On Friday , was the end of a busy week. I have been trying to get things in order before maternity leave at work. I ended the evening by having some yummy pizza with my friend Bev and having some good conversation. Saturday , I held usher practice at church with my youth ushers. I had my family and friends baby shower. It was so much fun, but I think that I was a little cranky because I was tired. I appreciate all that my friends did for me. I will post pics and more later. After the shower since my MIL and SIL's were in-town for the shower, they came to the house for few before getting back on the road. Got to finally  relax with the hubby after all the excitement and spent the rest of the evening watching TV and talking about the stuff we were blessed with at the shower. Sunday , I attended church as usual. I think that I did a little too much on Saturday and was tired after service so I came home and laid down for a few.  I called the hubby before he left work and I as...

33 Weeks

Well, 33 weeks is here. Time is just moving along. It seems to be going so quick. No pic this week. I look about the same. I am sure that I will have a picture next week. Size of Baby:   Per Baby Center, Baby J is about the size of a pineapple. I am sure Baby J might be a little bit bigger since they were a week ahead of schedule per the last ultrasound.  Maternity Clothes: Stretch clothing. I am trying to hold out on making anymore purchases, but I might need to buy some more elastic waistband pants. Gender: Is Baby J a girl or a boy? Movement: Lots, lots and lots of movement.  I find it kinda funny when Baby J chooses to move and when not. Sometimes I think that Baby J is trying to move my organs around to make more more for them. Heck, maybe they are. Baby J really like to stretch out. Must take after their momma.
