Weekend Sweeps

Friday

We had our annual 4th of July party. It had rained most of the week  and even rain Friday morning and I was worried it was going to be a wash out, but it dried up and weather was great by 2:00pm. It was really nice since  as always to be around friends, but it was really nice since Miss G has some playmates to run around the yard with. Old friends mixed with new friends made for lots of fun. I even had a grown folks moment and stayed up talking to some girlfriends until 2:00am. That has not happened in a long time.

Saturday

The family and I relaxed all day by taking long naps and eating leftovers. Hubby and I had a date night planned later on that evening with some other couples. We started we a happy hour where I had the yummiest mango rum ( I am so getting some this week). We went to see Aries Spears at the Funny Bone comedy club and I think I laughed the whole show. I really enjoyed myself having a grown folks moment.

Sunday

Went to church. Came home and just chilled. The family and I just enjoyed the backyard. Well, the hubby and I relaxed as the little one explored the new water table her Nana got her. Well,  she did. Of really explored the box that it came in.

It was a wonderful weekend.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
