What Are You Going to Be for Halloween?

Like I said yesterday, I am having a Halloween party on Friday and can not wait to wear my costume. My mommy made my costume this year, like she did when I was little. My mom told me a funny story about how my costumes became to be. She said that one year she purchasesd me a store bought costume and as she was putting the finishing touches on it, it ripped, right before we needed to be somewhere. She immediately went into action and put together a costume from items around the house, put make-up on my face and we were on our way. My mom stated that every since that moment she had been making my costumes. I think that they are better that way any way, especially when they are made with love. With all of the things that you can be for Halloween, what are you going to be? According to an article that I found from News 33 these are the best costumes of 2009..... Kate Gosselin-- I think this one is kinda funny. They have the wig just right for her hair. Michael Jackson ...

Halloween Party Food

I have been getting ready for my Girl's Night in Halloween party that will take place this Friday. I can not wait to see everyone's costumes. Of course, I had some moans and groans about the costume thing, but I do not care. That is the best part of Halloween besides the candy. When looking for  food ideas for my party I found a few websites that were helpful and wanted to share.... About.com Martha Stewart Halloween Food Network The site that I used the most was this one called Halloween Recipes . It is a simple site full of great food and party ideas. I got a lot of inspiration from this site. I want my party food to be creepy, and kinda unexpected but still taste good. The ideas on this site have allowed me to do this. I have used some of the recipes on the website, but added my own twist with either changing up some of the ingredients or how I plan on displaying the food.  I can not wait for my guest to come and see the Halloween feast that I have planned....

Blog Revamp

I came to my blog today to find out that my background was jacked up. It had the Photobucket logo all over it and I could not see not one thing that I had blogged about. Once again I was in the search of a new blog background. After searching a few sites I found this one at Simply Blog It Backgrounds. The site has real easy instructions on how to add backgrounds, headers and special buttons to your site. If you are in search of a new background, definitely check this site out. If you can not find one on their site that you like, they also have a listing of other sites that you can get a background from. Thanks, Simply Blog It Backgrounds, you have once again made my blog pretty.

Do You Like Scary Movies?

I was talking to some co-workers and we were talking about some of the horror movies that we all used to watch and some that we would not want to watch again. Here is our list: The Omen Amityville Horror Damon The Exorcist It--(do not want to see anything about clowns) Poltergeist--(really scared me when I was a kid) Carrie A couple of the movies that I did not like I kinda rationalize were Halloween and Friday 13th. I figured since I was not related to Mike Myers and I only went to band camp when I was a teenager, neither one those killers wanted me. Some of the movies that I thought were scary then, now look kinda silly to me now. Every Halloween, I get the urge to watch one with the stipulation that my husband watches it with me. I do not know why, since most of the time I sit with my hand over my eyes looking at every other scene. Do you have any scary movies that you like or will not watch again? Let us know so that some of us can either avoid them or rent them for the Halloween ...

Psst.....I Like Halloween

Can you keep a secret? I really like Halloween. It is the one time of year that you can be anything that you want to be. I remember being a kid and getting costumes with my mom. When I was a child dressed up as a vampire, Wonder Woman and a 50's girl with my poodle skirt and all. I think it is fun. I think that it is so fun that I am planning a girl's night in Halloween party. I have been busy trying to figure out what I want to be for the party. I have figured out what costume I am going wear for my party....but I am not going to tell you right now, it's a surprise. I have been out looking for cool things to decorate the house for Halloween. I have had alot of fall items like things that I have purchased in the past, but this year I was looking for more Halloween specific items for the house. I have found a shower curtain, a rug, place mats and even a couch cover. I found most of the items I found at my two favorite stores, Target and the Thrift Store. I really like Hallow...

Your MIL Said What?

I received my recent issue of The Nest magazine and read an article called "Things My MIL Said". If you do not know what MIL is it is....... mother in-law. Here a few things that some of the nestie's ( readers of The Nest) said that they mother in-laws said or did to them. After she bought her dress for the wedding, she said to me, "This marriage better last!"--swwood You're not exactly what I expected in an daughter in-law.--mtessb You maybe his future wife, but he will always be my man.--pace33tl She said that at my age (35), I didn't need to spend a lot of money on a wedding and we should just elope and show a video when we got back!!--cmccue I painted our bedroon a very pretty sage green. She walked into the room, stuck her finger down her throat and fake gagged herself. --jillbean78 I thought that were kinda of funny and unbelievable that people actually said some of these things. My mother in-law has not said anything to me like that and I hope ...

6 Months

I have a 6 month learning curve as a wife. As our relationship grows and changes, I will always be learning something new about my husband. If you do not learn, you can not have a true understanding of one another. I look forward to next 6 months to the next 60 years of learning and growing with him. Happy 6 month anniversary.
