Our Sunday Afternoon: Family Pictures and Family Time

Well.... lets start off with that my husband hates taking pictures, but I love them. I have had some photos done for my daughter but none of our family since she was 2 and I thought it was time. I wanted something that we could use for our Christmas card as well as chronicle that my little one is now 5. I really do not like the Olan Mills look of pics and really enjoy photos that reflect more of us a individuals and as a family. To prepare for the shoot I found two chalkboard signs at Target in the Dollar Spot and used a chalk pen and wrote our name on one and Merry Christmas on the other to use a props. I also found these cute t-shirts that we wore as well.   Of course, my daughter and I had the same shoes one. I think they turned out great and I can not wait to start creating our Christmas card. Thanks Jesssica Bouman Photography for the get pics. Here are just a few..... After the photo session, we went  our to dinner enjoyed some good food and ...

Tot Tuesday: I Found a Stick

On Sunday we finally got Miss G, one year old photos taken.  She did well during her supermodel shoot. She was even pleasant when we did a clothing change.  She ran. She smiled. She explored the flowers at the beautiful park. Of course, at the end of the  shoot she found something totally worth all the morning modeling. A stick. The stick seemed  like the most interesting thing of the day. She not only found one stick but she found two. She scratch the pavement with them. She waved them in the air and clapped them together. Once she was done with them she gently placed them back on the ground where she found them. She then looked around, but must not have found anything else interesting so she looked up at me as to say "Let's go" and grabbed my hand.  We walked hand in hand to the car to finish the rest of our day. I must say it was a nice way to start the day.

Boudoir Photo Shoot.....Me? Really?

I am doing a boudoir photo shoot with my fabulous photographer Sarah this weekend.  I am a plus size woman and I have always been comfortable in my own skin ( no matter how much there is of it). I want to be sexy and pretty in my photos. I am excited about using the props and seeing what Sarah is going to come up with. I plan on using the pictures to make a card and a book for the hubby for Valentine's Day. When looking on the internet, I saw a lot of women are doing these photo shoots a wedding gifts for the husbands-to-be. When I was planning my wedding, I am not sure when I would of had time to fit this photo shoot in with all of the other stuff that I had to get done. Well, wish me luck. If anyone out there has done one of these shoots, let me know how you felt and how your photo shoot was. I will make sure to update you on how my session went. image found here

Husband's Birthday Cake

My husband had a wonderful birthday celebration this past weekend. On Friday, I had a small gathering of friends to surprise him at a local resturant for dinner. For an extra special surprise I made him a birthday cake shaped like a car. I had the cake hid at one of my friends homes until the party. He loves cars  and everything doing with cars and even used to have a little yellow sports car. He loved it and so did everyone else. No one really seemed to believe me that I had made this cake. I made it and I have the two days of being tired to prove it. I used the Wilton 3-D car cake pan for the car shape and used a regular rectangle pan for the bottom of the cake. I made buttercream icing, that I learned to make from the cake decorating class that I took this past summer. In decorating the cake, I used the star tip for the car and wheels and the grass tip for the grass. For a the actual cake I made a pound cake recipe for the car and a yellow cake for the bottom. The rocks and ...

2 Months

Can not believe that it has been two months. Time does fly by.

1 Month

I have been a wife for 1 whole month now. It does feel a little different. I know that my husband is getting used to saying the word wife, especially when he wants me to do something that I do not normally do or want to do. I guess it is all about compromise and comes with the package of being husband and wife. You do things for each other and with each other even when you do not want to.
