Music Monday--Journey

I heard this song earlier last week and made think of when I was in middle school and I would fall asleep to the Sunny 95 when they played their love songs at night. It was the cool think to do, so you have to listen so that you could talk about the songs that they played at the lunch table the next day. I think this song is so pretty and one of the great love songs of the 80's. Have a happy Monday !!!

Yummy!!!

I attended my first Tastefully Simple party on Friday night. I must say that all of the foods were really yummy. Our consultant Carol, was really funny and I liked her stories of how she got started and the recipes that she makes with the products. There was so much food there that you would never think that eating appetizers and sampling little bites of stuff would make you so full, but I was stuffed half way through the party. There were lots of dips, breads and dessert that you can make really quick and taste really good. I really liked the beer bread with the balsamic dipping oil. I can wait until I get the items I purchased to try them at home. I had a really good time breaking bread and talking with others at the party. It made for a relaxing way to end my Friday. Have you ever attended a Tastefully Simple party of had any of their food? If so, how was it and want did you like the most? Have a simply great weekend.

Happy Birthday Michael

On his birthday, listen to one of my favorite songs of his Billie Jean . Image found here

Music Monday-- Jill Scott

Jill Scott is one of mine and Mr. J's favorite artist. This is one of my favorite songs of hers. When Mr. J and I went to see her in concert several years ago, I waited the whole night to just to hear this song and she totally did it justice live. I love this song so much that it is Mr. J's ring tone on my cell phone and I even had this song on my wedding favor CD. Have a Happy Monday .

My Orange Sister Diane

I am feeling better. I have a fibroid that is the size of an orange, per the ultrasound report my doctor read on Wednesday . That orange size ball caused alot of pain. During all the pain...all I could think was... is this what child birth is like , we might have to talk about this. Luckily my doctor stated that it is shrinking. My mom said because of it's size it was my unborn twin Diane trying to get out. She is always good for a laugh , when I do not feel good. I can sit up longer than 4 hours and have been slowly staying longer hours at work. It has been hard since I have been off for a week and a half, laying around the house. It especially gets hard at work around 2:00 pm, since my body was use to taking a nap at that time. As each day passes I get stronger and the pain is less. Just a little update. Hope you all have a great weekend and never have to deal with this fibroid crap!!!

Happy 4 Months!!!

It has been four months .....really? It just seems like yesterday we got married. Looking forward to the next 4 months and with many more.

Music Monday--Wham

Wham. Loved George Michael. I thought he was so cute. I had posters of him all over my wall. I use to buy "Teen Beat" to get his pictures. Do they still make "Teen Beat"? I had buttons with his face on pinned all over my jean jacket and my school book bag( I am sure my pins are somewhere in my room at my mom's house). He has definitely changed over the past few years. I guess jail and drugs will do that to you. Happy Monday!!!

Show Us Your Bridal Party

As a part of Kelly's Korner , "Show Us Your Life Series".. this week was show us your bridal party. My bridal party was made up of friends that I have either known from high school, college, family members, former roommates and sorority sisters. The good part was that most of them knew each other. Since all of my "divas" as I called them, had different personalities and styles, so I allowed them to select their own shoes and tops for the wedding. Everyone had to purchase the same skirt. I think that it worked out well. I love the flower girl dress that my mom made. I think that she did and excellent job. I also like how the bridal parties colors are worked off of each other. I think that the wedding was pretty. I guess I would it was my wedding. Show us your bridal party...Have a good weekend .

Thanks Alot Eve

I feel like crap (Does crap really feel? I digress.) My fibroids have decided to act up...great. I went to the doctor yesterday and she gave me some good drugs ( it makes you feel good, good, good) and told me not to go back to work for the rest of the week and gets lots of rest. I wanted to take some time off, but I did not need the pain to do it. I have be hanging out in our bedroom, with my feet elevated and snuggling with my friend the heating pad. I guess this will be my life for the next couple days. I need to get myself together since I need to hit the road with my husband for his sisters wedding on Saturday.I think that it is a little early in our marriage for me to be dipping out on family events already. Several of my friends have issues with fibroids and even have had to have surgery to assist them with their pain. From what I have been told fibroids are more prelate in African-American women...why? Wasn't slavery enough? I have had them for sometime, but I have never

Final Cake Class

Last Thursday was my final cake decorating class. I was really excited about it, since we were learning how to finish making the rose. I got to work on some of the other techniques that I had been practicing on as well. I think I have finally got the hang of making the icing the right consistency. It was really hard to not eat the icing while decorating since it smelled so yummy, but I did not like since I would not want to eat a cake that the decorator licked their hands the entire time. Most of the people in the class copied a picture of one of the cakes in our instruction book, but I decided that I wanted to design my own. My instructor said that it was really pretty. My husband came home from work and asked where I bought the cake. I said that I made it. He said that he was proud of me because it was so pretty and that it was yummy to boot. Yeah!!! My next class does not start for another few weeks and I am looking forward to learning how to work with fondant and royal icing. I
