Baby G: Birth Story Part III

Once settled in my room, the nurses began to start the induction medications. I found something on TV to watch and talked to my mom who was getting comfortable in one of the chairs in the room.  Soon after the medications were being administered, I started to feel some cramping and so that I would not have to deal with it I went to sleep. After being asleep for about 2  hours I was wakened my three nurses asking me to turn over, reaching for other body parts, adding additional medication and checking the baby monitor. Since I was startled so I immediately began asking what was going on. One of the nurse responded that my baby was not responding well to the inducing medications and her heartbeat had dropped. After poking me again and administering more medication they found the little one's heartbeat again. What I did not realize was that my husband had arrived during all this and they were keeping him in the hallway until they got everything settled. I calmed down a little aft...

Baby G: Birth Story Part II

After the events that took place on February 1, I went to a follow up doctors appointment the next day. Once at the doctors appointment my doctor and I went over what had been happening over the past few weeks and days. My doctor decided that due to my swelling and the health of the baby I should be induced. I was not surprised since we had talked about me being induced on February 10, five days before her due date. My doctor left the room to make arrangements and then came back and stated that she would see me at the hospital at 10:00 pm that night. I responded with a little weak......"OK", but I was think "OMG...tonight?!!". I left the doctors office and called my husband who was sleeping to let him know what was going on. I knew that I would have to call him back once I hung up so that I made sure he heard me. I called my mom and let her know. To keep my mind off of what was going to take place in a few hours....I went to work. Once I reached work, I told all o...

Baby G: Birth Story Part I

Our birth story begins on February 2, 2012. I woke up on that Wednesday morning about 7:30am to get ready for my doctors appointment and noticed that my night gown felt wet. I rolled over and asked the hubby if he had spilled something in the bed. He of course said no and said that I urinated the bed. Which I was sure that I did not do. I got out of the bed and noticed a wet spot in on the sheets. I immediately thought my "water" was leaking. After all of my investigating, I finally called my OB/GYN office to speak to my doctor. Once speaking to her, she told me to not to come to my doctors appointment but immediately to go to the hospital to get checked out.  I rewoke the hubby and told him what the doctor said. I took a shower, put on the outfit that I had picked out to wear to the hospital when I was in labor, grabbed my bag and away we went. Once we arrived at the hospital, they hooked my up to the monitors to check the baby's heartbeat. Then they stated that I need...

37 Weeks

My hubby takes a horrible picture. I am totally just belly and butt. Size of Baby:   According to Baby Center ,is she is considered full-term. Baby J should be about 6 pounds, which I am sure she is more than that now since she was 5 pounds 9 ounces two weeks ago.She should be about 19 inches long, like a stalk of Swiss chard. At this point, her hair has formed, but we could not tell on the last ultrasound. Maternity Clothes: If it stretches it gets worn. Gender: Baby J is a girl . Movement: Baby J is trying to move all my organs out the way to make room for her little body. I guess she is thinking it is her space at the moment and she needs more room.

Baby Shower

I had my baby shower with my family and friends at the beginning of this month.  The theme for the shower was, "She is About to Pop". I really enjoyed myself and had a good time. Here are some of the pics...... Here I am with the lovely ladies who put my baby shower together. Thanks so much. The cake was from my favorite bakery Reesch and the popcorn was the favor for the shower. It was so good and was a big hit. Enjoying the meal with my mother-in-law and my mother.  Baby J  and I were really blessed with all the clothes, diapers and little things that she received. All the gifts will be put to good use in a few weeks.

Ok....Baby J

Dear Baby J, You gave mommy quite a scare yesterday when we went to one of our weekly stress test. I could feel you moving but we could not find your little heartbeat. I kinda snapped at the tech when she stated, " I can not find the heartbeat." I suggested to her that might not be the best wording to tell a pregnant lady with hormones raging. So, the doctor had me go to the hospital to make sure that you were OK. As I drove, to the hospital I called  your daddy crying hysterically. I admit that it may not have been the safest way driving but I wanted to get to the hospital as soon as possible to make sure that you were OK.  Once at the hospital, the nurse, Lisa, made me feel a little more relaxed. As soon as she put the monitor on my belly, I heard your little heartbeat. I felt a little better as soon as I heard it. As usual you started moving to try to get the monitor off. Your movement made me feel much, much better. After the stress test, I got to see you on an ultrasou...

35 Weeks

Size of Baby:   According to Baby Center , Baby J  doesn't have much room to maneuver now since they are  over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds, about the size of a honeydew . Maternity Clothes: Stretch, stretch, stretch. Gender: I will tell you now..... Baby J is a girl . Movement: Lots, lots and lots of movement. She must be trying to make room in her little tight space, since I get lots of kicks.

Weekend Sweeps

On Friday , was the end of a busy week. I have been trying to get things in order before maternity leave at work. I ended the evening by having some yummy pizza with my friend Bev and having some good conversation. Saturday , I held usher practice at church with my youth ushers. I had my family and friends baby shower. It was so much fun, but I think that I was a little cranky because I was tired. I appreciate all that my friends did for me. I will post pics and more later. After the shower since my MIL and SIL's were in-town for the shower, they came to the house for few before getting back on the road. Got to finally  relax with the hubby after all the excitement and spent the rest of the evening watching TV and talking about the stuff we were blessed with at the shower. Sunday , I attended church as usual. I think that I did a little too much on Saturday and was tired after service so I came home and laid down for a few.  I called the hubby before he left work and I as...

I Want One!!

Zebra       Aqua       Damask I want one of these maternity hospital gowns. I think that that they are really cute and stylish. I am sure they will look great in pictures for Baby J's arrival. I do understand that I will only have the gown for a little bit in the hospital, but it might be comfortable to wear around the house when I am home with the baby. They are kinda of expensive, maybe I can get my mom to make me one. Not like she has not already been chained to the sewing machine making for stuff for the baby's room, what is one more project. We will see.

I am trying to hold out on making anymore purchases, but I might need to buy some more elastic waistband pants. Gender: Is Baby J a girl or a boy? Weekend Sweeps

On Friday ,  I  spent my day off, since it was Veteran's Day,  by going to the dentist, going to the OBGYN and looking at fabric for the baby's room with my mom. When I was out with my mom I found some good deals at Jo-Ann Fabric and Once Upon A Child. After having dinner with my mom, I went and visited with my friend Bev and Alena and met Alena's new baby Taylor. She was really cute and can sleep through anything. Before I got to sleepy, I headed home to bed. Saturday ,  attended my sorority chapter meeting and then went to church to have usher practice with my youth ushers. After all of my morning  meetings, I went to Babies R Us and started my baby registry. It was totally overwhelming and I do not think I scanned everything that I might need or want. I still need to research baby monitors and breast pumps. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. I came home was tired from the busy day, and made me a sandwich with some chips and plopped on the couch in ti...

Weekend Sweeps and a Hodgepodge of Other Stuff

On Friday , went to line dancing class and then came home and relaxed.  Saturday ,  slept in until 2:00pm and it was wonderful. I eventually got up and went to see my friend Lynnette and her new baby Maya. She is really cute. It gave me a glimpse of what motherhood is going to entail on a day to day basis. Came home and really wanted something sweet and text the hubby to get me a piece of Crazy Craig's Carrot Cake Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory while he was out. He said that he told the sales clerk that it was for a pregnant woman and they gave me extra whipped cream on the side. It was so good and a great way to end the evening.  Sunday , went to church and ushered. Came home and did a little housework and some cooking that would last for the week. Laid on the couch and cleared some shows from my Tivo. After the hubby got done with working on his car, we just chilled on the couch and watched some more TV. It was a good weekend, but it went so quick. I hope that ...
