5 Random Thoughts

When you are driving and someone cuts you off or does a dumb maneuver, don't you wish that you had a large hand come out of your car  hood and pop them upside their head? When you are telling someone something that they do not want to hear, why do they think that crying is going to change what you just said? Why do police officers offer people that they are interrogating cigarettes, when smoking in most public buildings is illegal? (  I have been watching the First 48) Why does summer seem to go by so fast and winter go so slow? Why when you go into Walmart or Target for a few items and you leave with a cart full?

Music Monday--Kem

I really enjoy Kem. The hubby and I have seen him in concert twice. I can not wait for his new album to come out, but I have waited this long I guess I can wait a little longer. The words are so moving. I hope that you are having a h appy Monday. <br><br>If

Sunday Inspiration

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.  The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.   ~Margaret Young (happiness)

Welcome Jisaiah

Congratulations to my cousin Nikki and her husband Jermaine on the arrival of their first child, Jisaiah. I can not say his name correctly, so I have already made up two nicknames, either J or JW (for his first and middle name). I am not sure which one that I am going to use, but it will be just a name for him and I.  When I went to the hospital to visit and held him in my arms, he would only opened his eyes for me. It might be because I talked to him the whole time. He must of liked the sound of my voice. He has freckles like the rest of my mom's side of the family and really big hands. He is a real cutie.  Jisaiah an hour old.

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Picture taken on my Blackberry. It is not really clear, but she looked beautiful. I attend a beautiful wedding of Tracy and Adam. It was rainy for part of the afternoon, but luckily it stopped to have their ceremony outside. Congratulations Tracy and Adam. It is interesting to that you always reflect on your own wedding, when you attend another. Saturday Was to attend a picnic but since it decided to storm, I did not. I did some housework and some laundry. The hubby and I invited one of my bridesmaids and her husband, Alena and Kenneth over for dinner. I made some lasagna, salad and a lemon cake. It was yummy. We ended up watching Big Mommas Like Father, Like Son. It was alright and had some funny parts. Sunday Attended church. It was good to see my Pastor at church, since he has been ill for a while. Since I did so well last week with  grilling, I decided to do it again. I grilled some steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs. I even roasted some potatoes and peppers and m

Music Monday: Iron & White

I really love the Twilight series books and not just the movies. When I first heard this song, I thought it was really pretty in the prom scene. I had no clue what the name of the song was, just that it was from Twilight. I discovered it again, with the name of the song,  at a wedding that I attended this past weekend. The couple used this as their first dance song. It was so lovely.  I hope that you are having a happy Monday !! Have a great week. If you are doing a music day every week,  let me know. We can link up.

Making the decision to have a child is momentous.  It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.  ~Elizabeth Stone quote I would like to wish my husband a Happy Father's Day.   I hope that you have a great day and that I know one day when we have children together that you are going to be a great father.

Red, White and the J's

The Evite's have gone out , yes I did say Evite, and now the planning needs to begin. The hubby and I have two annual parties a year, New Year's Eve and the 4th of July. With having a party every year, as a host you  have to change things up to make things fresh, which means Mr. J and I  have to step our game.  Here is what we did last year. I like some of the things that I did and may do some of them again, but I am looking for new decoration and food ideas. I saw some ideas on From Marriage to Motherhood and began to get inspired.  I  also found these ideas...........   I found these ideas at the Entertain Exchange . I really like them all and they seem so simple, but make a statement.  I found these on the All You website. I would like to make several different sizes of these to hang from the ceiling. The instructions looking simple enough and I think that I already have items needed to create these. I also found some ideas at Celebrations.com .  bunting I als

Wedded Wednesday: Wife +Sick Hubby =Medical Degree

I posted  last week about my husband being sick. Even though he is feeling better, he went to his doctor to make sure everything was OK. His doctor in-turn referred him to a specialist, to make sure as well. When I asked him what was the specialist going to do, he said " I do not know. Probably just check me out."  That did not sit well with me, so I decided that I needed to attend the appointment with him. We attended the appointment. He signed in at the front desk and the receptionist asked for the paperwork sent. He of course looked at me......especially since I was the one who fill out the paperwork. I am not sure why I filled out his paperwork, probably because he asked me to, but I never have him fill out my medical paperwork. I digress. We were escorted back to the exam room. The nurse was really nice. As she began to ask for some of the medical information, I found myself answering more of the questions than he was. Maybe I should have been quiet. The doctor eventua

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had pizza and a movie with my little friend Ben.We watched Tron and Little Fockers. I was surprised that I really enjoyed both of them. The weather started to get stormy and I hurried home. I hate storms. Luckily, the hubby was home from work early. Saturday Attended my last sorority meeting of the year. I spent the day with one of my "besties" Bev. We went to lunch at "our spot" El Vaquero. We then did some window shopping and of course hit the Bath and Body Works sale.I think I did a little damage. Here is some of my hubby's hard work in the back yard. I must have did a little to much shopping, because when I got home I took a long nap.  Luckily, once my nap was done my husband was done working in the yard, so we were able to spend a little time together just vegging out. Sunday Attended my friend Bev's early morning service. I wish my church had an early morning service. Her  church service started at 9:45 am and I was able to  attend s

Thrify Thursday: Three Little Words......

All I need to say is ...... Bath and Body Works . Yippee!!!! I can not wait. I love the semi-annual sale. I usually stock up for birthdays, get my hand soap for my house for the season and I even purchase Christmas gifts. Look on-line for additional coupons that you can use for with all the savings that you earn at the semi-annual sale. Happy shopping!!!

Weekend Sweeps

Nothing much happened this weekend. Most of my weekend consisted of taking care of a sick hubby, taking lots of long naps, watching lots of mindless TV when the satellite was not acting up due to some storms that past threw and getting the new wireless card working on my laptop. Like I said, nothing much  was really going on. Besides the hubby being sick, it was kinda relaxing just being around the house all weekend. How was your weekend? I hope that you had a good one as well. PS: Still looking for summer book suggestions so that I can finalize my list. Got any?

Music Monday: Jennifer Lopez

Happy Monday . If this tune does not get you moving, I do not know what will. Have a great day!!

Seasonal Friends

This little box and it's big brother allergy relief with D, have become my new friends. I have been so stuffy and my eyes have been itchy the past week, summer really came with a bang. Now that I have found my new friends, I will not let us part until I know that I can function without them. We will have our time together for a season and then I am sure I will be seeing their cousins sometime this winter or fall, DayQuil and NyQuil.

You Are the Biggest Loser.....NOT!

I am in 10th place, which means that I won a whole ........(drumroll).....$17.16. YES!!!!  I posted   a few months ago about entering this session at my job of the Biggest Loser contest. I had mixed feeling about doing this term since the last two I kinda sucked at. This session I did lose a total of 8.89 pounds over this 12 week period. I just need to keep it up so that I can look good in my summer dresses and bermuda shorts. I know it is going to be hard due to I love to have ice cream in the summer time. I am going to keep on walking with my friend in 2-3 evenings per week, going to my line dancing class, continue using my fat tracker on my Blackberry and use my Zumba tape a little more, so that the ice cream does not show. My co-workers and myself loss a total of 161.8 pounds!! That is great. I am not sure if I am going to do to the next session. Since there is an entry fee, I might just take my $17.16 and quit while I am ahead.

Summer Reading

With all of the TV shows either going off for the summer, I am looking for 3-5 books to read. I have a few ideas for books that I might want to read. Here is my list.......... Bright Shiny  Morning by James Frey The Final Testment of the Bible by James Frey The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison ( Have tried to read this before, but have not been able to finish it.) The Help by Kathyrn Stockett Ideal Wife by Jacqueline Thomas Do you have any selections of books that you have read in the past or are currently reading? I like romance and suspense. I  am really not into sci-fi. Looking for suggestions so that I can finalize my list by  the middle of June.

Dating + Marriage= Baby

I know that I have talked about this before, but I was there a line of fine print that I missed when I applied for my marriage license that stated that " Once married that after the 2 year anniversary that you must have a baby." Did anyone have that listed on their marriage license application? I must have skimmed over it. It is not bad enough that people that I do not normally share my personal life with are asking me, but now there are people asking my husband at his place of employment and giving him advice. Wow. I just wanted to share some of the advice that he was given..... " You should have sex everyday." "Tell her to lay on her side for about 20 minutes before moving." When my husband came and told me this, I first asked, "What and the hell are saying to people at work?". He said nothing and that people just assumed that we were trying to have a family since we have hit the 2 year mark in our marriage and offered their experiences and
