LOVED

My daughter woke up this morning and handed me this.... an English muffin that she toasted, buttered and wrapped in this napkin that she wrote on. It was so cute and I really appreciated it. It was nice to have her do something for me, but then I began to think what does she want. Then I felt bad for thinking that. I think that we all sometimes over think things and don't savor the moment of what has just happened. Once I stopped over thinking it, I was able to appreciate the time and care that went in to her doing that for me this morning. I was able to appreciate her in my life and how much I loved her. I finally realized that she was showing me love in her own way. It is sometimes the simple things that make you feel special. When I finally got to work and was able to enjoy the fruits of her labor. It was not toasted as long as I wanted to be. There was a little too much butter on it for my liking. The lovely purple marker had bled through to top of the muffin. You know wh...

Monday Mommy Murmurings

Pleezeeeee

That's right. I am a sucker. I am about to do something that I have never done before.....CAMPING. My little sweet pie is a Girl Scout and they are doing a baseball game and camp out at the baseball field. I know it is not real camping with woods, dirt and bears, but there will be bugs, outdoor noises and a 6 year old that has never done this before. This is not something I really want to do on a Friday after working all week,  is sleeping on a cot, in a tent outside, but when I that little person comes to me and says," Pleezee", I have to buckle.  I will see how it goes, it will be a new experience for both of us. What have you done for your little one that you said that you will never do?

Did I Ask For This?

Super I reposted this picture yesterday on my blog Facebook page. One of friends, who is my bestie, said "Well you asked for it! Since I know her well and she is one of the godmother to my little one, I know that she was playing, but did get me think if I really ask for all of this? Did I asked to be pulled in all directions by the husband and kid? Did I asked to chose between doing something for myself or buying new socks for the kid? Did I ask to be a maid, nurse, teacher, lover, friend, Martha Stewart as well as The Pioneer Woman? Well...... YES I DID! I fell in love with my husband and we decided to have this wonderful little girl who brings joy each day. In life there are choices that we all make that come with ups and down, curves and humps, being a wife and parent are no different. In that respect, I did ask to be a nursemaid. I did ask to make cookies every weekend to fill up the cookie jar since my hubby loves them. I did ask to be a taxi to all the little ones play...

The Evolution of Mom

I thought that this was funny. The sad part is that I recognize most of these dances and just hope that I do not do any of them since now I am a mom, well maybe except for the electric slide. Do you dance any of these dances?

Mom Calm

MOM This is best job that you ever do. Just keep calm, bad days will turn into good days and good days will turn into better days. Just look into your little ones face and everything will be alright.

If You Really Knew Me.....

I saw this on Faith's blog and it looked fun and decided to play along... You would know I love my mommy....lots. You would know that my hubby played a joke on me when we got engaged. You would know that I love shoes. You would  know that I love Mexican food. You would know I have a scar on my right elbow from putting it through a broken window when I was a child. You would know I love Ebay. You would know that I sleep in glasses. You would know that I met by husband through my ex-boyfriend. You would know that I love, I mean love, to watch television. You would know that I once had a temper tantrum when the cable could not be connected. ( I was an adult when this happened.) You would know that I have a sweet tooth. You would know that I have clothes in my closet with tags on them. You would know that I am very active in my sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. You would know that I love being Ms. G mommy. ...

My Chair Is Now Her Chair

My chair This is my little rocking chair  I had as a child. I remember it being in my room and me sitting in it. It made me feel big because my mom had a recliner like it in our tv room.  My mom recently had the chair recovered so that Miss G. can have it in her room. It looks wonderful and I can not wait to see her playing in it. It is really nice to be able to pass something down from my childhood to hopefully become special in her childhood. Her chair

Happy Birthday Nana

Nana Happy birthday to my mom and Ms. G. nana. Hope you are blessed beyond measure today and every day.

I Want One!!

Zebra       Aqua       Damask I want one of these maternity hospital gowns. I think that that they are really cute and stylish. I am sure they will look great in pictures for Baby J's arrival. I do understand that I will only have the gown for a little bit in the hospital, but it might be comfortable to wear around the house when I am home with the baby. They are kinda of expensive, maybe I can get my mom to make me one. Not like she has not already been chained to the sewing machine making for stuff for the baby's room, what is one more project. We will see.

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had a good day at work. On that evening, I went to my high school homecoming. When I go to homecoming, I usually march with our alumni band, which I did this year.It was fun. My friend, B, went with me to see the sights since my hubby made such a big deal about. It was fun as usual and it was great to see all of my high school friends. I really am amazed that my band director is still there. Saturday I spent the day with my mom. When she arrived at my house, she came bearing gifts from my favorite bakery. Ummmm........donuts.After the euphoria of the donut, we went to the Country Living Fair . It was really fun and I saw a lot of great ideas.I found a few goodies like candles, fall decorations and some nick-knacks. Here are some photos from our day.... I think that I want to do something like this on my buffet for fall.  We visited a few other stores  after the fair and then had a good dinner at Red Lobster. It was yummy. I was tired after such a busy da...
