Sweeping Through Life

On Friday , was the end of a busy week. I have been trying to get things in order before maternity leave at work. I ended the evening by having some yummy pizza with my friend Bev and having some good conversation. Saturday , I held usher practice at church with my youth ushers. I had my family and friends baby shower. It was so much fun, but I think that I was a little cranky because I was tired. I appreciate all that my friends did for me. I will post pics and more later. After the shower since my MIL and SIL's were in-town for the shower, they came to the house for few before getting back on the road. Got to finally  relax with the hubby after all the excitement and spent the rest of the evening watching TV and talking about the stuff we were blessed with at the shower. On Friday , I finished some Christmas shopping and got home in time make the hubby a home cooked meal after him being away on a business trip. I was glad to have him home. We spent the evening just vegging out on the couch. It was a nice way to end the week and start the holiday weekend. Saturday , attend the dedication brunch for my little cousin Jisiah. He is so cute. After spending time with the family, I went home and began cooking for Christmas dinner. It was nice to cook at a slow pace. I might have to do this every holiday. It makes it less stressful.  Sunday , it was Christmas. I attended church. While at church Jisiah was dedicated during morning service. After church, I  spent the rest of the day with family and friends. We ate, opened presents, laughed and hung out with one another. It was nice. On Friday ,  I had to run some errands, like picking up a new cord for my laptop and getting my travel system ( for those who do not know what that is it is a stroller/car seat combo) and was so tired I could not wait to get home and get in the bed.. Saturday ,  I laid in the bed until I had to get up. It was nice to just lay around. Since my hubby had to work on Saturday, his birthday, I made some other plans. I eventually got up and  attend a friends daughters dance school rendition of The Nutcracker. It was very nice and I really enjoyed it. After that I attended my friend Lisa's baby shower. She is due the same month as me. It was a nice shower and I enjoyed playing all the games. After such a busy day, it was nice to talk to the hubby and get some much needed rest. Sunday , I attended church and then came home and enjoyed the rest of the day by watching TV and resting on the couch. Hope that you had a good weekend!!! On Friday , went to line dancing class and then came home and relaxed.  Saturday ,  slept in until 2:00pm and it was wonderful. I eventually got up and went to see my friend Lynnette and her new baby Maya. She is really cute. It gave me a glimpse of what motherhood is going to entail on a day to day basis. Came home and really wanted something sweet and text the hubby to get me a piece of Crazy Craig's Carrot Cake Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory while he was out. He said that he told the sales clerk that it was for a pregnant woman and they gave me extra whipped cream on the side. It was so good and a great way to end the evening.  Sunday , went to church and ushered. Came home and did a little housework and some cooking that would last for the week. Weekend sweeps......what weekend sweeps. It was a busy weekend.On Friday , I attend a scrapbooking fellowship at my church. I was not able actually scrapbook , since I was preparing for Saturdays events. I did have a chance to assist my mom with my her page and enjoyed some good food. I came home and decorated some cupcakes to take with me to Saturdays event. I did eventually made it to bed and it felt so good.  Saturday ,   I woke up early to get to church for the women's fellowship seminar that I was the chair of. I was pleased that everyone who attended seemed to enjoy the classes that were offered and the fellowship that was had. Weekend sweeps......what weekend sweeps. It was a great weekend to do nothing.On Friday , I got off work and went to line dancing class. After class I came home and relaxed. Saturday , I did a few things around the home while the hubby went to a friends house to watch the game. It was nice, just being around the house with no real agenda. I enjoyed making the decision when I was going to housework or when I was just going to lay around the house and watch HGTv or the Golden Girls marathon in the Hallmark channel. Sunday , I went to church as usual and did more of what I did on Saturday, which was nothing. I just it was a good thing that I did nothing, because it seems that my weekends in October are slowly but surly becoming filled with activities. Have discovered some new shows like Ringer, Revenge and Body of Proof. Anyone else watching them or discovered some other new season show. Friday Had a good day at work. On that evening, I went to my high school homecoming. When I go to homecoming, I usually march with our alumni band, which I did this year.It was fun. My friend, B, went with me to see the sights since my hubby made such a big deal about. It was fun as usual and it was great to see all of my high school friends. I really am amazed that my band director is still there. Saturday I spent the day with my mom. When she arrived at my house, she came bearing gifts from my favorite bakery. Ummmm........donuts.After the euphoria of the donut, we went to the Country Living Fair . It was really fun and I saw a lot of great ideas.I found a few goodies like candles, fall decorations and some nick-knacks. Here are some photos from our day.... This weekend was very uneventful. I had posted a few weeks ago about how I went to the doctor with my hubby, well he had his minor surgery on Thursday and I have been taken care of him. I did take a little time on Saturday to help with a baby shower for my friend Lynnette. It was fun and she was very pleased. As soon as I get some pictures I will post them. After the shower I went back to nurse duty. The rest of the weekend was the same, taking care of hubby, cleaning the house, taking a nap, taking care of hubby and watching TV. This seems like it will be my process of the next few days as well. It was nice to have a little blogging break. Hope that you had a good weekend as well.

Friday After a busy day working in my cube, I went to my line dancing class. It was a good workout. Came home and relaxed. Saturday Did some housework. Took a long nap. Attend a picnic with my hubby and my good friend Danielle. I really did not eat anything at picnic, but a ear of corn. Once leaving the picnic, Danielle and I had some good conversation over the some good food at Applebee's. Came home from the picnic and of course the hubby ate the rest of my leftovers from Applebee's  as I fell asleep to the Golden Girls. Sunday Attend church. It was youth day, but it was still a good message given. Came home and made some dinner and did  a little straightening up of the home. Friday Had pizza and a movie with my little friend Ben.We watched Tron and Little Fockers. I was surprised that I really enjoyed both of them. The weather started to get stormy and I hurried home. I hate storms. Luckily, the hubby was home from work early. Saturday Attended my last sorority meeting of the year. I spent the day with one of my "besties" Bev. We went to lunch at "our spot" El Vaquero. We then did some window shopping and of course hit the Bath and Body Works sale.I think I did a little damage. I must have did a little to much shopping, because when I got home I took a long nap.  Luckily, once my nap was done my husband was done working in the yard, so we were able to spend a little time together just vegging out. Nothing much happened this weekend. Most of my weekend consisted of taking care of a sick hubby, taking lots of long naps, watching lots of mindless TV when the satellite was not acting up due to some storms that past threw and getting the new wireless card working on my laptop. Like I said, nothing much  was really going on. Besides the hubby being sick, it was kinda relaxing just being around the house all weekend. How was your weekend? Friday Work, work, work. After work I went to line dancing class. As if I was not tired enough, I was even more tired after class. It was a good tired and I needed a workout.  Went home and had a Stouffers pizza while I watched Say Yes to the Dress. I had to make myself go to bed, since I had an early morning on Saturday. Saturday Got up way to early for a Saturday and volunteered  with friends and sorority sisters at the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. It is a lovely sight to see the sea of PINK   banning together for a cause. I look forward to it every year, even though I have to get up so early. As if getting up early, I was helping host my cousin Nicole's baby shower on Saturday evening, Let's just say that I must be a glutton for punishment. It was a nice shower, except for a few minor issues. She really enjoyed herself and her and her husband are pretty much set for their little bundle to arrive in July. Friday Had a busy day at work. I have a sick client and I have been taking extra care with the case. I was so ready for the weekend. I end up rushing home and did some quick cleaning before my mother-in-law came back to town for a visit. After my cleaning spree, I went to a step show with some of my sorority sisters. After the show I went straight to bed. Saturday I took part in a young girls seminar at my church. It was a wonderful experience. I loved working with the girls. They had the cools t-shirt and they gave me one. I can not wait to wear it. I came home for a little nap, before my sororities annual Evening of the Arts Gala that raises money for scholarship for youth who are going into the arts. The Gala was great. All of my sorors looked great and we raised lots of money.If was a funny evening and my hubby, my mom  and one of my sister-in laws  attended. I am glad that it is over. Friday Worked a half a day and went to go see the Madea's Big Happy Family. Love going to matinees, less people and cheaper tickets. The movie was funny and I really enjoyed it. After seeing a matinee, I went to MoMo's to sing a little karaoke. I think that my favorite karaoke songs, I sung were Purple Rain, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Billie Jean. Can not wait to do karaoke again. Saturday Went and had a pedicure and my eyebrows arched. Came home and relaxed on the couch and watch some TV. Ended up going to the store with my mom to look for some Easter candy. We went to Target and Toys R Us and they were all sold out of candy. Since when does Easter candy sell out? We found a few things, good ole Target and headed home. We came home and I made tacos for my hubby and mom. My mom and I watch the Ten Commandments, as I sat there and made my critics review of the acting and attire of the film. I should give them the classic a little slack it was made in 1956. Sunday ...

Friday I took a "mental health day" from work and spent the whole day just chilling at home with the hubby. We watched lots of great TV and just vegged out on the couch. I made some yummy low fat cupcakes (will share the recipe before the end of the week). It was nice just to relax and not have to do anything. Saturday Did more of the same from Friday on Saturday morning. Attended a  Greek step-show with the hubby and some friends.It was held in the newly rebuild The Ohio State University Union . It was so nice and the building is alot nicer that when I was attending there. While at the show, I got the yummiest Brown Cow ( diet coke and vanilla ice cream) at Sloopy's . It was fun and I had a really enjoyable evening. After the show, I went home  and put my collard greens in the crock pot to cook all night for Sunday dinner and  then allowed the TV to watch me as I fell asleep. Friday Had an eventful day at work, such as a client that I was supposed to visit was not where they were supposed to be. Great??!!. Stopped at a consignmnet shop and picked up a new Vera Bradley bookbag. Love it. It is one of 3 I have picked up in consignment shops over the past few months. It is the Kensington  pattern but the Miller bag style. I am new to this, so do you only collect on pattern at a time? Do you like Vera Bradley and if so what was your first bag. After a little retail therapy, I went to my line dancing class and worked up a sweat. I came home and enjoyed a nice long bath and some tv. Saturday Hubby and I went to my sorority's Jazz and Eggs event. The jazz band was very nice and the food was good. After having a good meal, I walked it off by going to Trader Joe's, Walgreens, Crate and Barrell. After seeing the savings of Jules at Chic and pink, I have started my own coupon collection. This weekend I had my annual sorority regional conference.It started Thursday evening and last until Sunday. I spent the weekend going to meeting that updated me on the sorority's business, enjoyed learning new strolls, supporting our undergrads and had time to bond with my sorority sisters. I look forward to this weekend every year, especially seeing sorority sisters that I do not see all year and picking up some new sorority gear. Click here to see more. On Sunday it was my birthday and on the way home from the conference we went to Ikea and a local outlet mall and I picked up a few new items at Coach and Perfumania. We stopped at my mom's house to have some cake. It was nice having everyone sing happy birthday to me. Once I got home, the hubby took me out to dinner for my birthday. After dinner we came home and watched CSI Miami. What a relaxing day. I had a great weekend and I hope that you did too.

Friday Had an uneventful Friday. Worked. Went to my line dancing class where my teacher decided to really work us out since it was the last class of the session. I needed it through, but I will admit that there were a feel dancing that were sped up that I decided to sit out. After class I went to the grocery store. While I was there I got a call from the hubby saying that he was getting off work early due to his computer being down.  It was nice to come home and relax with the hubby on a Friday night. Friday Went and worked out with my friend Kim.  I needed it and it felt good after a busy week. Came home and did a little cleaning and fell asleep to the Golden Girls, as usual. I know not so exciting. Saturday Woke up early and ran a few errands. Attended the induction of the new soror into my sorority chapter, Angolique. Congratulations Angolique!!!  It was a  fun evening full of fellowship, laughter and sisterhood too bad when we were leaving we all go soaked from all the cold, blowing rain. I guess it was better than snow. After the all the fun with my sorority sisters, I came home and watch some TV with the hubby.
