Tot Tuesday: Ouch..My Ears

A few weeks ago, Miss G got her ears pierced. I was not really thrilled with the idea, but my husband has been asking for a long time to get it done. He stated that it makes her look like a girl, like the braid, hair beads, bows and all the pink and purple she wears does not. WHATEVER! To end the conversation, I had a discussion with her pediatrician about  it and then made an appointment with our dermatologist to have the procedure done. We talked for days about what was going to happen and she was so excited. The morning of the appointment she kept asking about the appointment and I think at that point the nerves had kicked in. We get back into the room and she starts messing with items in the room. When the doctor comes in I  decided to get a hole reopened to show her that it was not painful. Once the doctor did mine, she was set or so we thought. We sat her on the table and began to mark her ears for the piercing. She looked around, but as the doctor began to move clos...

I Am A Fitbitan

My name is Dana and I am addicted to my Fitbit. I can honestly say that it has changed my life. I am walking to the farthest printer at work, parking farther at the grocery store,  feel bad if I do not workout that day and tracking my sleep. I find myself looking at other peoples arms to see if they have a Fitbit or if I notice that they have one and I know  them I immediately add them to my friends list. I tend to be in several Fitbit challenges a day  and week, I find them motivating. This little thing has helped me become more aware about myself and my daily needs to continue with my healthier lifestyle. Are you a Fitbitian? Or do you use something else?

Weekend Sweeps

Friday I attended a Party Walk, a  dance competition between sorority and fraternities, with some of my sorority sisters. It was fun. I must say that I felt a little more "mature" than some of the people in the audience, especially when one of the guys did not know one of the songs that was being played from the movie School Daze . If you have not seen it, it is a must to watch. Saturday Started the day with the hubby making me some breakfast. It was really sweet of him. I guess I was half sleep when he asked me how I wanted my eggs, but when he called my name from the kitchen I was surprised. We ate breakfast together and caught up on some DVR shows. After my fill breakfast, I went to the gym with my friend Kim and had a good work out I needed it after breakfast. Had a little girl time with my mom. Went and did a little shopping. She purchased a yummy chocolate covered apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and I got one of the their chocolate cover pretzels wit...

Biggest Loser Top 10

I talked about a few months ago about how I was in the Biggest Loser competition at work. Last week was our final weigh-in and we found out the results yesterday. I was not the Biggest Loser winner, but I was in the Top 10. Yeah!! I ended up losing 11 pounds, over the 12 week period. I just watched what I ate to lose the weight. I was walking when the session started, but between the arthritis in my knees and hot, hot weather, I have not been doing a lot of that lately.  I did not totally reach my goal, but I am proud of what I accomplished and being in the Top 10.  We are starting a new session in 2 weeks and I am planning on setting another goal of 20 pounds before November. Before the next session, starts I am going to get my plan together to accomplish my new goal. At this point, for me I would be happy with any weight loss, because I just want to be healthy. Do you have any weight-loss goals? Have a good weekend.

5 Random Thoughts

Today is day 15 of  my National Blogging challenge and I am trying to find something to talk about. I started this blog because I got such a response from my wedding blog and I wanted to record my life after getting married. I really enjoy talking to other bloggers out there and hearing about their life and their thoughts on things. I need some feed back. Talk to me. Tell me what you are thinking? Is there something that you want to talk about? 15 more days until I finish the National Blogging challenge. Really trying to think of what I am going to take for Thanksgiving dinner. This year...since I am married I have to go to my husbands' family home for dinner. There always to many people there..I am use to a small gathering. Thank goodness I am dragging my mom with me and even think that I am driving seperately so that I can get home and get myself ready for "Black Friday" morning. I usually make cheesecake for dessert, but I know that one of my husbands sisters alr...

I Have Become a Germ-A-Phob

Every since this H1N1 has come about, I have become a total germ-a-phob. I home over almost every night and take a hot shower, hoping to get all the germs off of me. I need to take out stock in Pruell, I am constantly using the stuff which is totally making my hands dry. Every time I hear someone cough or sneeze in a store or at work, I want to run out of the area.  I think that I became more of a germ-a-phob when my BF husband came down with H1N1 and was in the hospital for a long period of time. Luckily he is doing better now and will be going home soon. I need to just calm down and continue with the precautions that my local health department has advised. With all the news, of long lines of people trying to get the vaccine and people dying from it, I think that it has just put me in a panic. I am going to be cool though. I will just continue to clean my house with  HUGE amounts of bleach and wash my hands constantly with soap and wa...
