Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I am not sure when the longest sleep was, but I was really sleepy a few weeks ago when I came home from work and went to bed at 6:00 pm and then woke up at

Do You Runway?

Did you watch? Another show to add to my list. The new season started tonight. Wouldn't  you hate to be the first one voted off? I do not think that the judges are going to be nice this season. Can not wait to see what happens.

Wedded Wednesday-- Painting

We have been in our home 6 years this upcoming this October. We decided that we needed to do some sprucing up of the house, so we painted the entire downstairs of our home this past weekend. I have learned through this weekend, that I do not like painting, but enjoy the results once it is done. This might be the reason why when we moved into our home, Mr. J painted every room in the house by himself except for our bedroom in which I painted.  During this process we both found out our painting strengths, such as I am the paint roller and Mr. J is the trim guy.  We had some fun while painting and paint was spilled, trim was accidentally painted, but we kept each other laughing and the conversation flowing as we grew tired of painting or maybe it was just the paint fumes getting to us. The best part, besides my home looking good, was spending time with Mr. J. Check out other Wedded Wednesday bloggers at These Prices .

Biggest Loser Top 10

I talked about a few months ago about how I was in the Biggest Loser competition at work. Last week was our final weigh-in and we found out the results yesterday. I was not the Biggest Loser winner, but I was in the Top 10. Yeah!! I ended up losing 11 pounds, over the 12 week period. I just watched what I ate to lose the weight. I was walking when the session started, but between the arthritis in my knees and hot, hot weather, I have not been doing a lot of that lately.  I did not totally reach my goal, but I am proud of what I accomplished and being in the Top 10.  We are starting a new session in 2 weeks and I am planning on setting another goal of 20 pounds before November. Before the next session, starts I am going to get my plan together to accomplish my new goal. At this point, for me I would be happy with any weight loss, because I just want to be healthy. Do you have any weight-loss goals? Have a good weekend.

The Last 30 Days of Me

I thought it was time to catch you up on what I have been doing the past 30 days.... Hung out all weekend with my sorority sisters at the annual NPHC weekend, which included a party walk competition in which my sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho won and picnic the following day. Hubby and I had our annual 4th of July party. We had a blast with our friends. Food and fun happened. I went with a red, white and blue theme, from red, white and blue popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels and red baked beans. Went to see the movie Eclipse. Loved it. TiVo and watched the movie, My Sister's Keeper and cried all through it. Our garden is growing well, except for a little issue from our neighborhood rabbit having a few snacks. We have actually have eaten cucumbers and some broccoli from the garden. I just can not wait for the tomatoes to be ready. Went to a National Black MBA association social with my gal pal Bev. We had fun, had some good drinks, nice cake and lovely conversation, but so

Wedded Wednesday--Victoria Secrets vs. Hanes

I might be telling too much of my business, but I wanted to share anyway. Mr. J said to me the other day, "Why don't you wear those cute sexy panties anymore? You always have on those "little girl" panties with all of the prints on them". My reply is that I want to be comfortable. Why do I have to feel sexy to go work and sit  in a cubicle all day? Why do I have to feel sexy to see my clients? Sometimes sexy panties ride up in your bottom, make you slide in your seat or are uncomfortable to wear. I feel cute in my Hanes Her Way with the prints, because I match them up with my bras, I do not know what Mr. J is talking about. My sexy panties are for him, especially for date night or when I just want to feel extra special. Men do not have to go through all of these selections of satin, silk or cotton underwear, they have one...cotton. Even though their cotton underwear , may come in many different styles and colors they do not have that much of a selection. Since

Wedded Wednesday--- Remembering

I know it will probably be Thursday when this post, but I had to talk about it while it was on my mind. I have several girlfriends who are going to be getting married over the next few weeks. I actually coordinated one of their weddings this past weekend. As she went down the aisle and the service started, all I could think of was my wedding day and how special it was. The biggest thing I thought was, all the reasons that I married Mr. J.  I thought about how he makes me laugh, how he protects me, how he cares for our household and how he loves. This was just a short list of the things of why I married Mr. J. I  just need to remember these things, when we get in an argument or when he does something annoying. As my friend, recessed with her husband, I was happy to know that I would be going home to mine (after he got off from work).

Fill in the Blanks--Friday

1. My favorite thing about this week has been working only 3 days and spend a little vacation time with the hubby. 2. The weather this week has been HOT! We have been expreinecing temperatures in the upper 90's all week. You just sweat walking out the building to your car. 3. The last (interesting) item I received in the mail was my " The Nest", "Essence" and "Redbook" magazines. 4. The last movie I saw was  Eclipse. Love, love, love it. 5. If I could be doing anything I felt like today I would stay in the bed all day since it is raining. Sleeping when it is raining is good sleep. 6. As a teenager I was so busy. I think that I was in every club or group I could get myself in. Besides all the groups I still had marching band and work. Busy, busy, busy. 7. I wish I could trade lives for the day with ....no one. I like myself and even if I traded with one person to see what they thought and felt, I would always be wonder

Fill in the Blank Friday-- Happy 4th of July

1.   This weekend for The 4th of July I'll be    maybe trying to go to an early morning service, since we are having our annual 4th of July party . 2.   Fireworks are          are loud, but pretty . 3.   Nothing says summer like        all of the fun outdoor festivals that my city has.  The best thing about them is that they are free to get into and fun to attend . 4.   My favorite summer memory is      as a child my mom would take me to Atlantic City to visit the beach. We would spend a week there, just hanging out. I looked forward to it every year . 5.   My favorite thing about summer is       an excuse to have ice cream every night for dessert . 6.   Summer in a word is        relaxed   . 7.   If I could choose to have summer or winter year round I'd pick    summer. I would just remove all the of the summer storms that we have. My summer clothes are cuter and I love flip-flops   . PS I know it is probably Saturday when this gets posted...so but

The J's Annual 4th of July Party

I am so excited and we are suppose to have great weather. It is only a few days away to our annual 4th of July party. Each year it gets bigger and better. I have so many ideas on how to decorate the house. I have already put up the 4th of July flag on the house. I need to put decorations on the door and I think that I am going to line the driveway with flags, like I did last year. Since we are suppose to beautiful weather, I am trying to think of ways to decorate the back yard. I am sure that I will think of something. Here are some ideas that I found that I might use to display the food and decorate the house..... I am making cupcakes, but instead of making flags like they did at Martha Stewart , I think that I might make star. They might be a little easier to cute out and I can use the scrapbook paper that I already have. I found this idea again .... thanks to good ole Martha . I think that I am going to make stars to put on the straw and put a Sharpie next to the cups so that peo
