The Last 30 Days of Me

I thought it was time to catch you up on what I have been doing the past 30 days....
Hung out all weekend with my sorority sisters at the annual NPHC weekend, which included a party walk competition in which my sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho won and picnic the following day.

Hubby and I had our annual 4th of July party. We had a blast with our friends. Food and fun happened. I went with a red, white and blue theme, from red, white and blue popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels and red baked beans.

Went to see the movie Eclipse. Loved it.

TiVo and watched the movie, My Sister's Keeper and cried all through it.

Our garden is growing well, except for a little issue from our neighborhood rabbit having a few snacks. We have actually have eaten cucumbers and some broccoli from the garden. I just can not wait for the tomatoes to be ready.

Went to a National Black MBA association social with my gal pal Bev. We had fun, had some good drinks, nice cake and lovely conversation, but some of those people seemed kinda snooty.

Started planning a baby shower for my friend Dani.

With the assistance of my mom , we recovered by grandmothers dining room chairs. The table and the chairs look great in my dining room.  I love the fabric. Thanks mom for all of your help.

My friend and I coordinated my friend Lisa's wedding. Congrats!!!!

I scheduled my double knee surgery for September.

I have watched lots of mindless summer tv.

Been a little busy, but have had time to relax. How was your last 30 days been?

My last 30 days have been great yet busy. I went to Hawaii, I am working on my first music release, we have a lot of things going on at church and I am trying to fit rest in there somewhere.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
