Ate lots of turkey day leftovers. Saturday Went to a Ohio State vs. Michigan game party. GO BUCKS!!!! Of course we owe again. After the game, the hubby and I did some shopping and came home and watched the movie Transformers (like we had never seen it before). Sunday Ushered at church. My mom gave me some really comfortable shoes to wear to usher in. Thanks mom. Cleaned the home and pulled out all the holiday stuff to begin decorating the home. Hope that you had a good weekend as well.

Happy Birthday Ben!!!!

I have a very special friend named Ben. He has autism. I have worked with him for over 11 years now. I have seen him grow in to the person that he is today. It has not always been easy, but as much he has learned from me, I have learned from him. He calls me his "brown mom" and I have no problem with calling him my "son". I look forward to seeing what holds for him next.  I want to wish him a great 18th birthday (which is hard to believe) and we are going to party tonight like it is 1999..(like he knows what that song is...LOL). Ben and I at a Halloween party and neither one of us were drinking the beer in front of us. He was Harry Potter.

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had my Halloween party. It was so fun. My original idea for my costume fell through and I use what I had and was a witch for the evening. People really got in the spirit of the holiday and giving. Attendees bought so much food items that we filled up a whole box with non-parishable foods that will  be donated to my local food pantry. I even had someone dress up as Sue from "Glee". I am already gathering ideas for next years party. Saturday Slept in until 2:00 pm. I then got up and watched lots of Lifetime tv and whatever horror film that was on. Sunday Went to church. Invited my mom over for a fall feast for Halloween. After dinner my mom and I wanted an ice cream cone from Dairy Queen and had lots of drama with trying to order a small vanilla cone dipped in chocolate rolled in nuts. Was looking forward to watching the Simpsons Halloween special, but I fell asleep on the couch.I was mad that I missed it, but I will catch it on the internet. Hope you had a good
