" Eat My Bubbles"

Summer 4 x 25 Relay Team for 6 and under category My little fish, AKA Flipper,  has been taking swimming lesson since she has been 2 years old. She loves the water and always has every since she was 6 months old and spent the summer with her Godmother Kelly and spent lots of time within her pool. This summer she joined a local swim team. She loved it from her first race in breaststroke and she won her heat. She was hooked and I am sunburn. We spent the last 8 weeks every Wednesday nights swimming in tournament for.  She did very well  and even qualified for finals in the 25 yard freestyle and in the 100 4 x 25 relay. Even though we had a little issue during the tournament, with my little fish telling a fellow competitor that she beat her and her parent being angry about it. Well, first she did not tell a lie she did beat her. Two, the girls totally forgot about it and was playing together 3 minutes later and thirdly her coach corrected her about it.  This par...

Monday Murmurings: Activities vs. Me Time

As mom's we want our children to have all the experiences they can have in life. Exploring those activities also involves moms being the taxi, the banker and snack machine for them. Not only are we wanting them to explore the activities, we also explore them by participating in the activity, socializing with the other parents or providing the snacks for the team. I really do not think that is the intent of the activity. I know that children need parent involvement, but sometimes it is too much, between work and home. To be honest, at times I want to be that parent who drops the kid off  at the activity and sometimes socializes with the other parents but gets to enjoy 45 minutes of "me" time. At times, that 45 minutes is needed  to refresh especially with the 50 minutes of prep time used to get to the activity. I have thought about limiting the number of activities she participated in, but I have also thought with doing that, that I was limiting her.  I do not want to ...

Class of 2030---No Not Already!!!!

Well this happened today............>>>>>>>>> She thought this was funny. My little one is off to preschool. Wow....it feels like I just had her.  Her school has kindergarten orientation for two days prior to all the school coming. The first day of orientation, I brought her on the campus and the traffic coordinator (not when I was in school, was it not a crossing guard) said today was the only day that I could walk her into the building, WHAT!!! Not my baby. I am bringing her in everyday. We walked in the school all the teachers were outside cheering them on and the principal (oops, team leader), greeted and shook everyone's hand as they enter. She started talking to some of kids that she knew from her old school and some she didn't, like nothing was going on. I am standing there all anxious about her first half of day. We walked to her room and she started to complain about me taking pictures. She gave a me ...

Tot Tuesday:Whining

whining This post is a little venting, so do not criticize, but do all 4 year old children whine? Miss G seems to be whining about every little thing from her juice not tasting right to her having to get out of the pool when her swim class is over to Nick Jr. changing her show line up.To be honest, I am over it. It is getting to be a little annoying.  I try to talk to her and calm her down, but she continues to whine I try to cuddle or redirect her and she still whines. I don't want to be mad  or frustrated at her all the time because she is whining, but I really need it to stop before I pull my hair out. So if you have any suggestions on what works with you, please I am open to your suggestions.

Tot Talk: Can You Add to The List

We say these things all the time and so much more. Can you add to the list?

" I Am Getting Bigger Each Day"

mommy&me " I am getting bigger each day" is the daily statement from Miss G. I am going to be honest, I don't like it. I want her to stay little as long as possible and tell her as much. I like the fact that she still needs me. I like that she wants me to still pick her up. I like that she wants to cuddle with me or sit beside while watching one of her kiddie shows. I love hearing her little voice them me that she loves me and calling me mommy. I don't want any of that to go away anytime soon. I hate the thought of her growing up, but I knew that it was going to happen. I know with each phase of life, there are new memories to be made together. As we continue on this life journey she may ask me about make up and boys. She will ask me about what is love.  I hope that she will cuddle with me when she needs a shoulder to cry on. I hope that she will continue on tell me she loves me, even she has a teenage rant. I know she has aspirations of riding a 2-wheel ...

I Hate Three....(But Love It Too)

I hate three. This is the little song I have been singing the last few months. I enjoyed one and two was not terrible, but I am not really enjoying three and we are only 5 months in. I will say to do not hate my 3 year old, but I do not like all that has come along with her being three. Her attitude. The foot stomp. The hands on the hips. The "No". The ignoring of  what she is being asked to do. It is almost like having a mini-teenager in the home. It just makes my blood pressure and my voice raise (which both need to stop). Everyday with Miss. G, at 3, is not bad. She is an explorer. She wants to be helper. She loves to smile. She is always ready to dance. The emergence of her strong personality. She likes to cuddle. She likes to read and listen to music. She loves her tablet and doing puzzles. I do love her independence and her wiliness to try new things. I do appreciate her lack of fear, but it does scare me. It is just like there are two people living inside of h...
