Goodnight Sleep

found The hubby and  I just purchased a new bed. I can not wait for it to be delivered. It is an upgrade from a queen to a king. We just got the bed and the mattress since our dressers are still good and match the new bed.  I can not wait for it to come. It has extra storage underneath the bed which we need. I just need to get some additional sheets that fit. This kinda of an anniversary gift to each  other. Since we have gotten a new bed, which is wider than the bed we currently have, I do not think that our night stands are going to fit.  I have been searching the Internet to find some alternatives for our current nightstands. I have found this one so far.  Becky at Piece O' Cake Designs Blog, had her husband  make these. They look very simple and I think that the hubby would be able to make these or something like them. I love decorating our home and I look forward to making our new bedroom nice and cozy.

Wedded Wednesday: What Would You Do For Love?

On Monday, the hubby and I watched the movie The Next Three Days. In this movie, Russell Crowe's character comes up with a plan to break his wife out of jail for a murder that she did not commit. ***SPOILER ALERT**** Within this plan, he goes to meet with drug dealers, sells his house and spends hours on planning his wife's escape all so that he could have his family back together. When the movie was getting towards the end, I ask my hubby "Would you do that for me?" We both looked at one another and then I stated, "I would put some money on your books and exhaust all ways that I could through the legal system, but I do not think that I would have enough guts to go to that point." He looks at me and said," Ditto on that, but I would miss you alot and would visit you often." As we talked, I thought about how much I would miss my hubby if something like that happened and how much my life would change. It made me think, "What would I do for lo

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had an eventful day at work, such as a client that I was supposed to visit was not where they were supposed to be. Great??!!. Stopped at a consignmnet shop and picked up a new Vera Bradley bookbag. Love it. It is one of 3 I have picked up in consignment shops over the past few months. It is the Kensington  pattern but the Miller bag style. I am new to this, so do you only collect on pattern at a time? Do you like Vera Bradley and if so what was your first bag. After a little retail therapy, I went to my line dancing class and worked up a sweat. I came home and enjoyed a nice long bath and some tv. Saturday Hubby and I went to my sorority's Jazz and Eggs event. The jazz band was very nice and the food was good. After having a good meal, I walked it off by going to Trader Joe's, Walgreens, Crate and Barrell. After seeing the savings of Jules at Chic and pink, I have started my own coupon collection. It works wonders for he budget when I went to Kroger.  Once I

Sunday Inspiration

It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you   do   want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!   ~Mark Twain Quote found

Fill In the Blanks

I have not played in while, so that to do I would jump on in. If you want to play, go on over to The Little Things We Do . 1.     My most prized possession is   my dining room set. I love this set do to it was my grandmothers. We we looked for a house, I made sure that our living room was big enough to hold it. It looks really good in my house and it hold so many memories to it. I really like the fact that I get to create new memories with it.  2.   If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be  it to be 30. It was young enough to still act like a 20 year old but old enough to be taken seriously. 3.   The best way to spend a weekend is    chilling with friends, family or the hubby with some great food and a super good movie.  4.   My outlook on life is      you create the life that you want and learn from your mistakes. 5.   If you want to annoy me, just       eat the food that I have my taste buds already to slam on. That sometimes send me over the edge.

In Need Spring

Can you tell me why Sunday was the first day of spring and I woke up this morning with snow on the roof of my house? Yes, I did say SNOW. I do not know why I am surprised, when it happens every March. We get a few days of 60 or even 70 degree weather and then we are back to 30 and 40 degree weather. I am over it. I am ready for flip-flops. I need some sun and warmth.I guess patience is truly a virtue, because I am truly patiently (or at least trying) waiting on spring.

Weekend Sweeps: Sistercation and my birthday

This weekend I had my annual sorority regional conference. It started Thursday evening and last until Sunday. I spent the weekend going to meeting that updated me on the sorority's business, enjoyed learning new strolls, supporting our undergrads and had time to bond with my sorority sisters. I look forward to this weekend every year, especially seeing sorority sisters that I do not see all year and picking up some new sorority gear. Click here to see more. On Sunday it was my birthday and on the way home from the conference we went to Ikea and a local outlet mall and I picked up a few new items at Coach and Perfumania. We stopped at my mom's house to have some cake. It was nice having everyone sing happy birthday to me. Once I got home, the hubby took me out to dinner for my birthday. After dinner we came home and watched CSI Miami. What a relaxing day. I had a great weekend and I hope that you did too.

Music Monday: Celine Dion

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Had an uneventful Friday. Worked. Went to my line dancing class where my teacher decided to really work us out since it was the last class of the session. I needed it through, but I will admit that there were a feel dancing that were sped up that I decided to sit out. After class I went to the grocery store. While I was there I got a call from the hubby saying that he was getting off work early due to his computer being down.  It was nice to come home and relax with the hubby on a Friday night. Saturday Woke up early to pick up my mom's birthday cake. It was packed in the bakery. It smelled so good, but I was good I only purchased a donut for myself and another for my mom.  After the bakery I attended my sororities annual Youth Symposium. It was a very nice and well attended event. To add to my already busy morning, I went to church for my youth usher practice. When all of my events were over, I spent the rest of the day with my mommy.  We spent the day by doing a l

Wedded Wednesday: Church and Marriage

What part does faith play in your marriage? I must preference this post by stating that my husband is a PK. You do not know what a PK is....a preachers kid. Since he is a PK, he feels that when he was a kid he was forced to go to church every Sunday morning and evening and several services throughout the week that he can now as an adult make the choice to go to church or not. Even though, my husband is not a regular church goer, I know that he does believe in God and does think it is important in our lives. At times it bothers me that he does not attend every Sunday with me, but I continue ask him to go with me. When I attend service alone, he always asks when I get home how was service wand what Pastor talked about. Sometimes I want to give a smart-butt comment back like," If you came, you would know.", but I refrain from saying thatt would just deter him more. I would like to have more of that spiritual connection with him. We have prayed together and have had in-depth co

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Went and worked out with my friend Kim.  I needed it and it felt good after a busy week. Came home and did a little cleaning and fell asleep to the Golden Girls, as usual. I know not so exciting. Saturday Woke up early and ran a few errands. Attended the induction of the new soror into my sorority chapter, Angolique. Congratulations Angolique!!!  It was a  fun evening full of fellowship, laughter and sisterhood too bad when we were leaving we all go soaked from all the cold, blowing rain. I guess it was better than snow. After the all the fun with my sorority sisters, I came home and watch some TV with the hubby. Sunday It must have been all the ripping and running I did on Saturday, because I totally overslept for church.  When I woke up it was almost noon.  Was lazy around the house with hubby and watched TV and end up taking a 2 hour nap. I must of needed the rest. When we decided to get up we went to one of my favorite restaurants, El Vaquero for dinner. The chi

Music Monday--Dixie Chicks

Since I did a beautiful lullaby last week with Billy Joel, I decided to dedicate this month to lullabies. I think it is great early research since I, have a few friends who are currently pregant and gathering these songs for a cd would be a great gift. Have a happy Monday .

It is Friday and I thought you might need a good laugh or at least put a smile on your face. Have a good weekend.

5 Random Ramblings

Can you tell why Toni Braxton and Sinbad need reality shows? Why do you need to have a baby on board sign in your car, when we see the car seat in the back seat? Only 17 more days until spring. Yeah!!! At some point, can my state fill the pot holes in the highway so that I can stop playing dodgeball when I am driving. Why oh, WHYYYYY....do I have to spring my clock ahead in a week. Nooooo, I like my extra hour of sleep.

Wedded Wednesday: Single vs. Married

I have been involved in a few casual discussions about , if married people should socialize or hang out with single people. When the discussion first came about I thought this is dumb, since I was once single and I had married friends. I guess the argument is that, if you are married that do not have anything in common with a single person any more or that you may start acting like you are single when you have other commitments waiting on you at home. I think that is silly, especially since I have several good single friends that I do things with and feel that I should have to give up those relationships because I am married. What do you think?      If you are doing Wedded Wednesdays to. link up so that we can see your thoughts abut marriage.

Weekend Sweeps

Friday I attended a Party Walk, a  dance competition between sorority and fraternities, with some of my sorority sisters. It was fun. I must say that I felt a little more "mature" than some of the people in the audience, especially when one of the guys did not know one of the songs that was being played from the movie School Daze . If you have not seen it, it is a must to watch. Saturday Started the day with the hubby making me some breakfast. It was really sweet of him. I guess I was half sleep when he asked me how I wanted my eggs, but when he called my name from the kitchen I was surprised. We ate breakfast together and caught up on some DVR shows. After my fill breakfast, I went to the gym with my friend Kim and had a good work out I needed it after breakfast. Had a little girl time with my mom. Went and did a little shopping. She purchased a yummy chocolate covered apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and I got one of the their chocolate cover pretzels wit
