Music Monday-- Billy Joel

I first heard this song sung by Celine Dion on Oprah last week. I played that part of the show over and over, since I had it on DVR, just to heard the song, until I found on You Tube sung, by its writter Billy Joel. It is a really pretty song and for some reason it makes me a little emotional. I wish that every parent would feel this way about their children. I wish that you have a happy Monday and enjoy this song.

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Was uneventful and I went to my line dancing class and went for a good soak in the hot tub at the gym afterward. It made my joints feel sooooooo good. Saturday Helped my BF, Kelly, with her daughters Sam, SWEET 16. Oh, to be 16 again. NOT!! It was interesting to watch all of the teenagers hanging out with each other. Sometimes, I thought oh, to be in high school again, but not after watching them. After a busy day with a room full of 16 year olds, I can home and watched "The Expendables" with the hubby. I was surprised, that I liked it. It was a good action movie. image found Sunday Had a good service at church. Attended a sorority function. It was nice to see new and old Sorors. After the few days of nice weather that we had, we got some sleet and rain. Ugh. That weather made me sleep and all I wanted to do was to curl up in a blanket. I put some laundry up, hate laundry, and watched "For Colored Girls". It was a good movie. I am not sure if I p

Working It Out

Well, I have been back on my weight loss journey. I am have been working out at least 5 days a week, even it is just 30 minutes on the treadmill. I feel better and my clothes are feeling a little different. My achy, athritic knees are feeling good. When I weighed in on Wednesday at work for the Biggest Loser contest and I had lost 5 pounds. Yeah me!!. I continue to get support from my friends and the group that I am in on Facebook.  I continue to watch my food and the calorie counter app that I have on my Blackberry has really help me keep track of my food and exercise. It really helps me make healthy choice and really know I need to exercicse. I continue to be a work in progress as I continue this journey. Anyone else working it out? How and what are you doing?

Lunchtime Memories

image found The other day I packed my husband's lunch for work ( which is something that I never thought I would be doing on a consistent basis), oh I digress. The lunch consisted of a turkey with Miracle Whip on wheat bread sandwich, a bowl of Bob Evans chicken and noodles soup, an apple, a 100 calorie pack of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and a fruit snack. Well anyway, when I talked to Mr. J during his lunch break he said," I loved my lunch. It brought back such memories."  As he said it, I was thinking what was he talking about and got real silent on the phone. He said, "You do not remember. Do you?" I just said, "Yes, I do", but my tone was not confident and he knew that I did not remember. He said," One time when you surprised me and brought me lunch to work, you brought chicken and noodles soup and a turkey sandwich." I thought awww....he remembered. Once he said it, I remembered. I even remembered what we talked about and that w

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Hubby and I went to the couples bowling event at Rue 63 with my church. It was their Valentine's Day outing. It was so much fun. I got see some of the older couples in my church in a different light, they were fun. There were a couple of couples bowling in our lane who had been married 64 and 23 years. That was impressive and inspiring. It was great to see how they interacted with one another after all of those years.  We were so tired and sore from 3 games of bowling, we immediately came home and went to bed. I thought that I was going to go to sleep when coming home, but I ended up watching Purple Rain until 1:00am. Saturday Had a sorority meeting and then had an activitiy at church. Did a little consignment shop shopping with my mom after we went to get some heart shaped cream filled donuts from Jolly Pirate. At teh consignment shops, I was looking for a few things for my upcoming sorority conference as well as my new obsession with obtaining a Vera Bradley cosmeti

Wedded Wednesday on Thursday: Valentine's Day Ideas

The day of love is almost upon us. What are you doing for Valentine's Day ? We do not have anything really special planned, but we are going to attend a couples fellowship bowling event at my church this Friday. I am looking forward to it. It seems like fun. We did decide that we are going to exchange gifts, but they can not be expensive, just meaningful. We will proabably do dinner or something on Sunday, since he has to work on Monday. When looking for some creative and fun ideas for Valentine's Day I came upon this article at The Huffington Post with some ideas and decided to share. Take a dance class. Make a massage coupon ( I have done this before. He loved it. Cheap gift.) Save the planet and send an personalize e-card or adopt a pet in your loved ones name. Buy some organic chocolates. Cook a gourmet meal. Write a poem. Plan a future vacation to a place that your loved one wants to visit. Write a love note. For the coffee lover, give them a recyclable coffee cup

Happy Monday!! I hope you are having a good day...even though it is Monday. Here is another song for the month of love. I hope you enjoy!!!

Snow + Ice= SUCKS

I am sick of snow and ice. Snow is only good for one day...Christmas. I am sick of salt trucks on the street. I am tired of having to turn up the heat or put on 6 layers of clothing because it is so cold. I guess I should get use to it since, Phil, the groundhog did not see his shadow. 6 more weeks of winter. Great!!!!

Wedded Wednesday: Dear Dana.....

Dear Dana, We hope all is well and wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you. We know that alot of people have been asking you lots of questions, even some people that you are not close to. We have a response for you to give them next time that they ask, " When are you going to have a baby?", you can tell them, " Stay out my uterus." Why does everyone think that you should be having a baby? Are they going to be taking care of it? Are you going to obtain the expense? We know that you and dad have had conversations about when you are going to use us.We just want to let you know that we want you to be the best mom that you can be, so if  you want to lose a few more pounds or have a little more "me time" before using us, we are o.k. with that.  We will be ready when you, dad and God are. We just wanted to let you know that we love you and are here for you. We will check in on you from time to time, to make sure that your o.k., so until then tak

Weekend Sweeps

Friday Went to TJ Maxx and Marshalls and found some great deals. Found a cute Dooney and Burke purse and some Coach tennis shoes. I think that I am going to take them with me when I go to my sorority weekend in March.  After shopping, I attended my line dancing class. It was a real work out, as always. After class, it seems like I always want some pizza, maybe because it is Friday night. Since I am trying to watch my weight, I found  Digiorno 200 calorie pizza. It was yummy and filling. You might want to check it out.  Saturday I had plans to do nothing, but the hubby had other ideas, but fortunately they fell through. I got to stay home all weekend. I did some Saturday cleaning and kinda chilled.  We watched.... Easy A. I thought it was funny. Sometimes you just need a little mindless comedy. We also watched The Social Network. I am not sure what all the hype is about. I thought that it was a good movie but not one that I would watch over and over again. Sunday Had a g
