Fill in the Blanks

Absolute favorite movie of all time is a toss up between Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles and West Side Story. I love them all. They all make me happy when I watch them. My favorite movie as a child are the movies I listed in #1. The best movie quote ever is, " Put the candle back", from Young Frankenstein. This is when Gene Wilder got stuck in the rotating wall and wanted the Madeline Kahn to put the candle back so that he could get unstuck. I guess it was funny when you see it. I laughed when I first saw the movie and I laugh when I watch it now. My favorite actress is I really do not have a favorite actress, but I enjoy watching movies that Angela Bassett. From being Tina Turner to staring in a Tyler Perry movie she has been good in all of them . My favorite actor is Denzel Washington. I think that it is his pearly whites and great smile. He is an excellent actor and I have liked him in every role he had been in. I just think that he should of won his Oscar for a more posit

Wedded Wednesday

Wedded Wednesday is a collaboration of married bloggers sharing their inspirations, anecdotes, struggles and thoughts regarding the amazing union of two separate people, as one. Life is full of ups and downs, and you must know how to laugh through it. Since we just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, one of the things that we did was watch our wedding video. My mom had said that people had made comments to her during the wedding about us laughing and really having a good time during the ceremony. I really did not believe it, until I saw the video. We laughed most of the ceremony. We have no idea what we were laughing at, but if we were not laughing it would not be us. Mr. J and I really enjoy laughing with each other and at each other. He always says that he likes to see my smile when I laugh. I like to hear his chuckle and see his pretty smile when he laughs. He always finds a way to make me laugh even when  I do not feel good or when I am down. Laughter has is really apart

Music Monday-- Mary J. Blige

This week I have chosen a oldie but a goodie...Reminisce by Mary J. Blige. Hearing this songs takes me back to hanging out with my girls at an icebreaker in college. The good ole days...how I reminisce on them. Well, anyway Happy Monday.

This is Your Life Thursday

This week's This is Your Life Thursday was suppose to be something else, but I did not like my topic. Since it is my blog I have decided to change it. This Thursday's topic is..... What 10 Things Can You Do with $5.00? Buy a pair of shoes. Get a hamburger, small fry and a chocolate milk shake from McDonalds. Get 10 rolls of paper towels from Family Dollar. Donate to a good cause. Buy 2 bottles of nail polish. Buy 3 pieces of clothing from the thrift store.  Make a paper airplane. Pump a few ounces of gas.  Buy a bottle of vitamins from CVS. A large pepparoni pizza from Little Cesears This might be the last week that I add a Linky to my Thursday post, since I have not been getting many responses. I have searched other blogs and have noticed that there are several other Thursday series going on. I will make a decision next week about it.

Loss and Ramblings

One of my mom's good friends husband of over 20 years passed. Since my mom told me I have been thinking about, what would I do if I lost Mr. J? I have always been a very independent woman and lived on my own for several years before moving in with Mr. J. I know that it would be a financial change, but  have been blessed with a good job that I would be able to maintain my household.  I think that it would be more emotional for me, of course.  I know that I would have a support of my family and friends during my emotional crisis. It would be hard to have someone around you that you have a special connection with just go away. I guess it is like that when anyone that you love dies. Even though Mr. J and I have been only been married for 1 year, we have been together for 10. He is a huge piece of my life. With that piece gone, how would I be as a person?  The thought of ever losing Mr. J, has me planning for the future by looking into  more life insurance and writing a will. These are

Hit the Tile Jackpot

As I have stated before, I have some unfinished home improvement projects that need to be completed. Well, one just got on the way. I woke up this past Saturday and felt like going to my local Habitat for Humanity ReStores . It is a great store. You never know what you are going to find, if anything. This trip I hit the tile jackpot. There were all sorts of different tiles there. I have never seen so many tiles within this particluar store. Of course, the hubby was at home and I did not want to make this purchase without him co-signing since I could not bring the tiles back once purchased. So, there I was taking pictures on my Blackberry of all the different tiles that I liked and were texting them to the hubby who was still half sleep. I could not pass up the deal, especially  since the title was $10.00 per box.  I have priced tile in the past and there was no way we were going to be able to redo our downstairs bathroom for that price. In the end, the tile purchased worked out to be a

India Arie and Give-A- Way Winner

Welcome to Music Monday. This is a beautiful song and India Arie has a beautiful voice. She is so mellow and maybe just the voice you need when you are having a busy day at work. Hope that you are having a Happy Monday. P.S. I am the winner of the Mrs. Sergent giveaway. Thanks Mrs. Sergent. The items will come into great use as we get ready to plan our garden.

The first thing I do in the morning is hit the alarm to turn it off. Every night before I go to bed I brush my teeth, wrap my hair up and fall asleep to the TV. My favorite thing to do when I am having a bad day is to eat some junk food like ice cream sundaes and potato chips while I watch something mindless on TV. Something that makes me cringe is when I am in public and I hear someone with a nasty sounding cough or a sneeze that sounds like someone blew snot everywhere. It is the germ-a-phob in me. Social situations are fun. It is fun to meet new people. I see it a challenge to see how many new people I can talk to. I like to collect poodles. Ever since I joined my sorority and our mascot is a poodle, I have been off and running. I think that they are so cute. I love the way that they are all different and have their own personality. Weekends are for relaxing, sleeping, vegging out, enjoying the things that you want to do, how you want to do and when you want to do it. Ha

What is Your Best Cleaning Tip? I have a few cleaning tips... hope that you share some of your own... When your husbands t-shirts get worn out and have holes in them, cut them up and use them as cleaning rags. Using vinegar and water as a glass cleaner is eco-friendly and cheap. Create a cleaning routine, it makes cleaning easier. Baking soda and vinegar cleans out a garbage disposal. When you burn a pan, make a paste with baking soda and let sit in the pan. In the morning, wipe out with water and the scalding should come out.

5 Random Ramblings

Who decided that April 15 needed to be tax day? Why are there so many cable channels? I love TV, but  I know there is  no way that I could watch all of the channels or would want to watch all the channels. Why aren't cubicles sound proof? Why can't laundry wash, fold and put itself away? Why do you always need a vacation from a vacation?

Happy 1st Anniversary

On this day one year ago,  I married my friend, the person who makes me laugh, who fills my heart and who I take this journey through life with. I am blessed to have  had this year with Mr. J and pray for many more in our path through marriage.

Fill in the Blanks Friday

The strangest thing that I have ever eaten is dirty. It was by accident, playing as a kid and got some kicked into my mouth. Gross. My best friend is the complete opposite of me. We met in high school where they made us sit in alphebetical order by last name. We made up nicknames for each others last name, and just kinda clicked. We have taken different paths in life and have different interest but we always find a way to connect. She makes me laugh, that is the essential part. If I could live in a different era is would be the 1980's because I love the 80's. Big hair, Jerri curls, Michael Jackson (before he started bleaching his skin) and big eyeglasses. Love the 80's music from Bon Jovi to New Edition. It was a fun era. Maybe it was not the era or just the fact that I was a kid in the 80's. I like to sleep . If you know one thing about me it should be that I love shoes and purses. I think that I have some many I could not carry or wear them all in a year. Even i

This is Your Life Thursday

Tell us about Your Marriage Proposal (or dream proposal) I thought that this post would be fitting this week since I will be celebrating my first wedding anniversary this weekend. My proposal was not all romantic as most are, mine was kinda of comical. Well, here is my proposal story.... On Christmas Day 2007, we were all gathered around the tree opening present. Everyone had gotten their presents and I was looking for my present from Mr. J. I sat there for a while and then just gave up and went into the kitchen to finish cleaning up from dinner. Mr. J came up behind me with a book in his hand, stating that he went to jewerly store and they had lost my ring. I began saying a few choice words and hit the book out of his hand and walked away. Little did I know that he had told everyone in the living room what was going on and they were laughing at me. Around 2:00 am in the morning, Mr.J came busting into the bedroom yelling and screaming waking me up out of a dead sleep. As I fumbl

5 Random Ramblings

Do you have to be rich in order to be a sex addict? Does being a sex addict give you a pass on cheating? Just because it is the first warm day of the season, does it mean that it is time to pull out the "Daisy Dukes" shorts? Spring break = higher gas prices. "Why Did I Get Married Too?" is a good movie. Go see it. I went to see it this past weekend and want to see it again. Be kinda to others.....please get a pedicure (or DIY it) before you go out in public in sandals.

This is Your Life Thursday

What is your favorite vacation? I have traveled a lot over the years. This one was hard one. I do not just have one favorite vacation, so I am choosing 2 . My first favorite is any vacation that I have taken with my mom. Some of our favorite places to travel are Viva Las Vegas and Florida. We have fun everytime that we go away together. When we are together we explore the area that we are in, but we always make time to relax, what else are vacations for. My second favorite vacation was my honeymoon. I love the beach and anytime that I get to go there it is great. My husband and I had taken mini-trips before, but on our honeymoon he was a totally different person. He wanted to see everything and pointed out things to me that I would have never looked at before. Relaxing on the beach, even if it was sometimes chilly, was just what we needed after our wedding. Heck, this vacation was also just simply special because it was our honeymoon. Here is one of the photos of the hubby being an
