Boudoir Photo Shoot.....Me? Really?

I am doing a boudoir photo shoot with my fabulous photographer Sarah this weekend.  I am a plus size woman and I have always been comfortable in my own skin ( no matter how much there is of it). I want to be sexy and pretty in my photos. I am excited about using the props and seeing what Sarah is going to come up with. I plan on using the pictures to make a card and a book for the hubby for Valentine's Day. When looking on the internet, I saw a lot of women are doing these photo shoots a wedding gifts for the husbands-to-be. When I was planning my wedding, I am not sure when I would of had time to fit this photo shoot in with all of the other stuff that I had to get done. Well, wish me luck. If anyone out there has done one of these shoots, let me know how you felt and how your photo shoot was. I will make sure to update you on how my session went. image found here

Happy Birthday Oprah

Today is Oprah's birthday. What do you give the woman that seems to have everything? Shoes, jewerly, money? I know another dog. I wish you a happy birthday Oprah, with many more to come. It is to bad that next year will be last birthday that you spend with us since your show will be ending a few months after your birthday . We will celebrate with you while we can. I hope you have a great weekend!!

What Are Your Plans for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is upon us and I am trying to figure out what the hubby and I are going to do. He is really not a big planner. He feels that Valentine's Day is a "Hallmark" holiday. He participates in it because I enjoy it and I really think deep down that he enjoys it to. Who does not enjoy a reason to eat chocolate and other sweet things?  In the past, we have gone out to dinner and either saw a movie or rented one. That would be fine again, but I am trying to figure out if I want make Mr. J a gift or purchase one. I think that a handmade would be more special especially since he is a very simple man. Luckily, I have a few weeks to figure it out. What are you doing for Valentine's Day or do you even celebrate Valentine's Day?

Blissful Tip

I have wanted to do something different with my header for a long time. I have tried different backgrounds before, but I still was never satisfied with how the blog looked. I love my new blog and I am proud of the header that I created myself. When Goggling this weekend I located the Blissful Domestic website where I found a wonderful tip on how to upgrade my header. Click here to read all about it and see what other domestically blissful ideas that are there. Do you have any blogger tips to share?

Music Monday --Jodeci

The Dairy of a Mad Band was one of  my staples in my music rotation. I think that I may know all the words to most of the songs on this cd. It is to bad that Jodeci broke up. I really enjoy their music. Happy  Monday !!

Welcome.....Cutielicious

Welcome to the world Jaimyra. Here is my great-niece. She was born early Thursday morning after her mother Jamie was in labor for 24 hrs. After I heard how long she was in labor, I thought to myself, is this something that I really want to do. I guess no pain, no gain. Congratulations Jamie, I can not wait until I can meet little Miss Cutielicious  (I call her that because I bought her a onesie with cutielicious on it.)  in person.

A Few Random Oprah Thoughts

As I sit here and watch today's TiVo'd Oprah, I am coming across with a few thoughts. Today was her Fridays Live show in which she talks about several different topics. Here are my thoughts about some of today's topics: Her first guests were Sarah and Bristol Palin.Unless, you have been under a rock, you know that Bristol had a baby when she was a teenager. Oprah questioned Bristol about a statement that she made in US magazine, about not having sex again until she gets married. During the interview, Oprah asked her why she would made such a statement, since the media is going to watching and waiting for her to fail. I felt that Bristol could not really explain herself and her mother was not much help in explaining either. I have seen comments on Oprah.com with people being upset that Oprah asked the question. My opinion is that if you are in the media light and are doing interviews, you need to be ready for questions that are asked or be able to explain statement

I Have A Dream

Do you have a dream? Dr. Martin Luther Jr. had a dream. Sometimes in this world, I feel that the dream will never be fully realized. The dream will never be realized if each of us, do not do our part. We need to be his dream and not expect someone else to fullfill his dream, because we are his dream. Please view Dr. King's, "I Have a Dream" speech if you have never seen it before.   Happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

MLK Day+ Party =Honor?

I was listening to the radio while driving on my way home and heard a commercial for a party at a local club to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day this weekend. The first thing that came out f my mouth was ,"What?".  Who thought of this? Is this a good way to honor his memory? I might not have such a problem with it if they have persons attending the event bring a can good or a portion of the profits went to a local charity. How is this party celebrating Dr. King and all of his work?  It seems to me that, someone just made up a reason to have a party. I think that there are other ways to honor Dr. King, like volunteering, marching a local MLK walk or attending one of the many Dr. King programs in your city. I am not sure Dr. King would be happy with people tipping a bottle in honor of him. Maybe I am over reacting, but I find it kinda of rude and disrespectful. Maybe I am just being sensitive, but I do not like it one bit. Whatever way you decide to honor Dr. King this

Husband's Birthday Recap

With all the holiday stuff going on, I was not able to finish the recap of my husbands birthday. I have already talked about the suprise party, but not the rest of the weekend. Well, thanks to a good friend I was able to rent a hotel room for the entire weekend for a great rate. It was nice to have a little get-a-way. While we were on our get-a-way, I had a few activities planned. On Saturday, we had a couple massage done a local spa. It was nice that we were in the same room, it made it more relaxing. He had a couple of other services done such as a manicure and pedicure. I treated myself as well and got a pedicure. I think that he was nervous at first about the manicure and pedicure since he had never had a professional do it before, but he really liked the end result. I think that some of the nervousness went away once he realized I was going to be in the room. After the massage we went back to the hotel, had dinner and just relaxed. My husband loves jazz, so on Sunday  I took h

Happy 9 Months

I Have Cooties....

Happy New Year to me...I have a cold. Great!! I was in total denial last week about me getting sick when my voice started to hoarse. It really hit me on Sunday and all I did was lay around the house and watch a lot of mindless TV (after I went to church). I did accomplish one thing on Sunday which was make some homemade chicken noodle soup. It was yummy. I was going to go to work yesterday, but when I called my boss to let her know that I was coming in late, she said "You sound awful. Why don't you call it a day?" I think it was the best so I do not give my co-workers my cooties. I stayed home and I slept and laid around the house. I feel a lot better and plan on going to work today. I keep telling my husband that I feel better and he keeps thinking that he is Dr. Oz, by telling me to take some vitamin C. I do not normally take vitamin C so why should I start now. I hope that this is the last illness for the season for me. Next thing for me to do is to give my home a go

Music Monday--Sade

Sade is one mine and my husbands favorite artist. I must admit he really loves her music. We went to one of her concerts once and he sang every song from beginning to the end of the concert. I was kinda of embarrased and even think that the couple sitting in front of us moved because he was singing so loud. Happy Monday !!
