I Have Cooties....

Happy New Year to me...I have a cold. Great!! I was in total denial last week about me getting sick when my voice started to hoarse. It really hit me on Sunday and all I did was lay around the house and watch a lot of mindless TV (after I went to church). I did accomplish one thing on Sunday which was make some homemade chicken noodle soup. It was yummy. I was going to go to work yesterday, but when I called my boss to let her know that I was coming in late, she said "You sound awful. Why don't you call it a day?" I think it was the best so I do not give my co-workers my cooties. I stayed home and I slept and laid around the house. I feel a lot better and plan on going to work today. I keep telling my husband that I feel better and he keeps thinking that he is Dr. Oz, by telling me to take some vitamin C. I do not normally take vitamin C so why should I start now. I hope that this is the last illness for the season for me. Next thing for me to do is to give my home a good cleaning with lots of bleach so that no one in my home gets it.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
