Summer Reading

With all of the TV shows either going off for the summer, I am looking for 3-5 books to read. I have a few ideas for books that I might want to read. Here is my list..........

  • Bright Shiny  Morning by James Frey
  • The Final Testment of the Bible by James Frey
  • The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
  • The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison ( Have tried to read this before, but have not been able to finish it.)
  • The Help by Kathyrn Stockett
  • Ideal Wife by Jacqueline Thomas
Do you have any selections of books that you have read in the past or are currently reading? I like romance and suspense. I  am really not into sci-fi. Looking for suggestions so that I can finalize my list by  the middle of June.

The Help and The Bluest Eye are two of my all time favorite books. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

I am reading a ton of non-fiction this summer of popular comedians. Loving it so far.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
