Thankful

I am thankful for so many things, some times it is hard to say all that I am thankful for. I think that sometimes during the holidays we forget what the holiday is about, it is called Thanksgiving. Here are 5 things that I am thankful for.

  • God-- I am thankful that I have God in my life.
  • My husband-- We have been together for so many years he is almost like a third arm. I really do love him and thankful for the friendship and the relationship that we have.
  • My family and friends--I have a wonderful mom and a great bunch of friends. I am thankful for their friendship, love and support.
  • Books--Books help me escape to another place and time. I do not have to be Dana, I can be Anne of Green Gables or Edward from Twilight. Books give me an escape, for all of the hum drum of everyday life.
  • Sleep--I love sleep. I am thankful every night when I can get in the bed and rest or when I am able to take a nap. There is nothing like cuddling with a blanket and snuggling with my pillow.
There are more things that I am thankful for.  I am sure that over the next few years some of the things that I am thankful will change or the symbolism of them in my life will evolve.  I am going to tag some fellow bloggers to see what they are thankful for. The bloggers that I am going to tag are;

    Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

    1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

    With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
