It 's My Turn

After all those years of  my mom taking care of me...it is my turn to take care of her. My mom had surgery yesterday and will be in the hospital for a few days then she will be coming to stay with me for her recovery. I did not want her to go to a nursing facility since I would have been up there every hour on the hour, ensuring that she would be recieving the proper care. I think that she will be more comfortable with being in a home enviroment anyway. I am taking a few weeks off  at work so that I can provide care for her. I am sure that everything will be fine and I will be able to do all the things that she wants and needs me to do.The hubby will be around to assist as well. I am glad that I am able to do this for her, it is a small thing that I can do for all that she has done for me.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
