Wedded Wednesday--We Are Family

Wedded Wednesday is a collaboration
of married bloggers sharing their inspirations,

anecdotes, struggles and thoughts regarding
the amazing union of two separate people, as one.
There has been a lot of we in "family" lately. This past weekend my step-daughter graduated from high school. Needless to say there were a whole bunch of relates in the house. I come from a small family, my husband does not. Even though we have been together several years, all those people still sometimes still overwhelm me. As I looked around the room, I realize this is my family now. When I married Mr. J, I not only obtained the title of wife, but also of daughter-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, etc. I kinda like the new titles and am trying to fit into each of them. Each large family function, I get more comfortable. More comfortable I get, the happier Mr. J is. In a family we may not always be able to choose who our family is, but I am so happy that Mr. J chose me to be apart of his.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
