Weekend Sweep and a Sweeping Hodgepodge

On Friday, I got off work and went and visited my little cousin Jisiah. He is so cute and I enjoyed my visited with him. After my visit I went home and quickly packed and hit the road to my sorority meeting. It was the first time that I stayed out in a hotel by myself out of town, and I must say that I do not liked it. Luckily if anything happened my husbands family was near by. . Saturday, I woke up earlier to get to my area meeting for my sorority were I was going to be presenting on our AIDS/HIV initiative. It was nice to see all of my sorority sisters for near and far and I really obtained some important information. After the meeting I went and visited with my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law before I got back on the road home. I got home in good time and was able to spend some time with the hubby before falling asleep on the couch. Sunday, started out as usual with attending church. After church, I went and did some grocery shopping. Once home I prepared Sunday dinner and also made some chili for the week since I saw on the news that the weather was getting colder. I also made a cake and did a few things around the house. I set a goal to be done by 6:00pm so that I could relax alittle and I did it. The hubby and I ended watching X-Men:First Class. I really enjoyed it.

It was the a busy but nice weekend. I hope that you had a great weekend as well.

My Hodgepodge:

  • Anyone watch the Little Couple? I enjoy watching their story and seeing what happens in their life.
  • Did you see the video of the guy who used his 9 year old kid as his designated driver at 3:00 am? He is a stellar parent.....NOT.
  • I am loving the smell of fall. It smells so different this year and I am not sure why.
  • WalMart opened his layaway for the holidays. Yeah!!!
  • I heard on the radio yesterday that Americas spend $3.9 million on Halloween per year. I love Halloween, but when do it become such a big holiday?

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

On the Road Again.....

It was between Chicago and the state of Pennsylvania. Well....the state of Pennsylvania won out for our little trip for our first anniversary. It is a shorter drive than going Chicago, especially since we do not want to spend most of our mini-vacation in the car. I have a co-worker that lived in Pennsylvania and she gave me some great places for us to visit like, the Phipps Conservatory, the incline at Mt. Washington and the Pittsburgh Zoo ( I think that the hubby would like the aquarium). It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since our wedding, but I can not wait for our time away. Even though I want to see somethings while we are there, I really just want to relax. If  you know any great places to go or see in the state of  Pennsylvania let me know. We are looking at taking some three day weekend trips in the summer and maybe a week long trip to the beach in the fall.  Do you have any plans for trips anytime soon or this summer? Share we might want to g...
