Red, White and Fun

We had our annual 4th of July cookout this past weekend. I must say it was fun as usual. Friends and family came and we ate, we laughed, played and talked some more. I really enjoy entertaining and spending time with our family and friends, the little Miss surely does too.

In our neighborhood we have lots of neighbors who set of fireworks. They usually start several days prior to the 4th so we decided that we join in the fun. Our little display was not anything like the neighbors, but it was satisfying for our crowd and definitely wetted our whistle for what we could get for next year.

I really love our annual cookout. It seems to get better each year.  We always add something different and new, but always have the crowd favorites. I have already looked ahead for next year to start planning.  Independence Day is truly a day or independence for our country so that we can reflect and celebrate with those that we love and care for the most our family and friends.

I hope that your 4th of July was an enjoyable as mine was.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
