Monday Murmurings: Let's Ride

I have a new, I guess it is not really new, but a renewed interest in something....riding my bike. No not a Harley but an actual bicycle. I have been enjoying taking evening rides with my daughter or just going on a spin by myself. The wind flowing and rustling to on my shirt makes me feel so free. I like to hear all of the different sounds I hear in my neighborhood, that I otherwise ignore when I am within my home. I like going fast down the hills and slow around the corners. I want to ride each night and get really bummed when it rains or it is too hot. I look forward to the nightly rides. I was so excited when city put in a new a bike path close to my home that I have added to my nightly journey. Riding for me is not only exercise but a daily freeing of my mind of the hustle and bustle of the day. I am going to enjoy as many of these rides as possible until winter falls upon us and even then I might try to find away to ride.

Do you go bike riding or what do you do to free your mind from the day to day hustle and bustle?

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

Wedded Wednesday: Thanksgiving Traditions

With the holidays coming,  I am thinking about how I want to spend them with the hubby. We do the same thing every year for Thanksgiving and make a road trip to spend it with his family. I usually go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving starting at 3:00am and usually come home and sleep the rest of the day. I was looking at starting some sort of new traditions on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that we can do for years to come. Maybe like putting up the Christmas tree (this is my vote), taking an annual holiday photo, doing some shopping together or maybe doing something relaxing like getting a couples massage. Of course, we will have to throw in some football and lots of left overs whatever we decide to do.Building new traditions, will be the traditions that will continue in our family  and define the holidays for years to come.  Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
