Monday Murmurings: Hallowthankfulmas

I just love Halloween. The idea of being someone else for 24 hours, eating all the candy you want without judgement and decorating the house in creepy things is always fun. What I really like about Halloween, it is the official kick off to the holiday season. Not only can you shop for all of the Trick or Treat items you need but you can also pick out your stuffed turkey for Thanksgiving and your new Christmas decorations. You also watch a horror movie and then flip to another channel and watch a Christmas movie. No really, I love the holidays but I want to enjoy one holiday at a time. Yes, I have been on Pintrest gathering all of my intel for Thanksgiving and Christmas decor and watching a few of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel,  for the most part I have not been mashing all the holidays together.  Mashing all of the holidays together, just speeds up the ending of the year.  I want to enjoy being with family, baking cookies with my daughter, decorating the house, adding new ornaments and watching all the holiday movies together. I want to enjoy every moment of making new memories that each holiday brings. Soooo...No Hallowthankfulmas for my me and mine. We are going to enjoy pigging out on candy then transition to stuffing ourselves with graditude and turkey to stuffing stockings and then finally celebrating the blessing of the past year.  Hallothankfulmas to all and to all a GREAT holiday season.

Fill in the Blank Friday--Sleep

1.   The last thing I do before going to sleep is         turn on the TV and set the sleep timer . 2.   When I can't sleep I      watch TV until I fall back to sleep   . 3.   The first thing I do when I wake up is     go to the bathroom . 4.   When I'm tired I      can fall asleep anywhere. I have fallen asleep in a folding chair, on a couch , outside, sitting up.....let's say when I am tired, I am tired . 5.   My dream bedroom would be       have lots of white linens and would feel very breezy. It would be filled with antiques and have a large sitting area. It would be shabby chic . 6.   If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be        on a porch on a beach house listening to the waves roll in and the feeling the sun rise on my face . 7.   The longest sleep I've ever had was    I a...

On the Road Again.....

It was between Chicago and the state of Pennsylvania. Well....the state of Pennsylvania won out for our little trip for our first anniversary. It is a shorter drive than going Chicago, especially since we do not want to spend most of our mini-vacation in the car. I have a co-worker that lived in Pennsylvania and she gave me some great places for us to visit like, the Phipps Conservatory, the incline at Mt. Washington and the Pittsburgh Zoo ( I think that the hubby would like the aquarium). It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since our wedding, but I can not wait for our time away. Even though I want to see somethings while we are there, I really just want to relax. If  you know any great places to go or see in the state of  Pennsylvania let me know. We are looking at taking some three day weekend trips in the summer and maybe a week long trip to the beach in the fall.  Do you have any plans for trips anytime soon or this summer? Share we might want to g...
