What is That Doing in Your Yard?

A couple of weeks ago, I came home and noticed a for sale sign in the yard of my neighbors across the street.  I guess I should have gotten a hint when, I saw the house getting paint, but I just thought that they were improving their house. Well they were...to sell. I know that it is the time of year to sell especially with the school year about to begin in my school district. It got me thinking, why are you selling? Is there something going on in the neighborhood I should know about? Was I not a good neighbor? When I see a for sale it also makes me think about, will I ever sell my house? I asked my husband about it and the response I got was, "No, I worked to hard on my yard." Oh, I thought in my head. I really like my neighborhood and the most of the people in my court have been there for several years. I have seen people come and go due to foreclosure(yes I am the nosy neighbor that looks things up on the auditors site), new jobs or just selling due purchasing another

The Misadventures of False Eyelashes

I have been wanting to try false eyelashes for a long time. I purchased them awhile ago but I just did not put them on. I have not wore them since my "trash the dress" photo shoot after my wedding. I watched several YouTube videos to see how it was done. After about 5 videos.....I settled on this one by makeupDOLL that I thought was easy and decided to give it a try. The right eye was easy and I did not seem to have any issues. The left eye was another story. I put it on and took it off and did it again. I glued the lash upside down. I glued to close to the top of my lid. I did not allow the glue to get tacky enough, so the lash slid down a little bit. It was a mess. After about an half an hour I think I got the lash in position. This is the final look.  I like how it turned out. To bad it did not last long since I took the little one swimming and one of my lashes ended up on sideways on my lid and then they both ended up on the seat car on the way home so

We Have Made A Decision......

Myrtle Beach We will be sitting in these for our family vacation.  Last year we did a staycation and took a few day trips but this year we are heading to Myrtle Beach. I am looking forward to it, especially since the little has been asking for a year to go to the beach. We just need sometime to just relax, spend time together and explore. I have heard good things about it and it seems like everyone was going there a few years ago (so I am a bit late). I know I want to take Miss G to the aquarium there, but I do not know what else to do there besides sitting on the beach (which is a good thing).  If you have any suggestions of restaurants, places to see or things to do let me know, the internet can tell you so much, your suggestions or experiences are much more beneficial.  I am so excited and can not wait to make new family memories.

Dear Hate.....

Dear Hate, Why do you exists? Why do you continue to destroy lives, hearts and minds? First there was Matthew , then there was Rodney , Trayvon , Freddie  , Charleston shooting  victims and now Sandy . All these were living, breathing people that someone decided to beat until they were hospitalized or until death all because of you. Why are you so important to some people? What makes someones skin color, gender or sexual orientation so important to others that they are will to harm for it? Now because of you their families have to live without them, Without their smiles. Their laughter. Their hugs. All because of you. Why hate someone if they are not bothering you? If you are not sleeping with them or interacting with them why do you care? Hate I hate you. I was taught to never use you as a child, but I think it is fitting here. Hate I want you to know that all lives matter no matter what they are doing. Even if you think that they are a good or bad person, they are important to so

Illumination Entertainment Minions: Miss G. Review

Minions Miss G. and her girlfriends went to see Minions today. She sat through the entire movie with her popcorn, Icee and fruit snacks. She talked about it all the way home, so I thought that she could give a review of the movie. She had seen the commercials  on the TV and keep asking on when she was going. She would point out all the Minion images on her yogurt, in the paper and on the DVD box of Despicable Me 1 and 2 see we own them. I did not dare tell her that we were going, until it was time to go to see the movie. As we were getting ready for bed about to read a book, she began to ask me when I going to take her Build a Bear to get her Minion and when I was going to make her Minion skirt and sheets that she wanted, I decided to redirect her and ask her a few questions about the movie. (Don't worry no spoilers in this review) Mom: What was the movie about? Miss G: Looking for a bad guy. Mom: What do you like about the movie? Miss G: It was fun. They fl

Books Are Fun........NOT!

I needed to go and pick up a book that I had on hold at Half Price Books for book club and I took Gabrielle with me. I really did not want to take her with me, since the bookstore and the library are one of my happy places, but my husband had to run an errand of his own. The visit started out fine, but quickly went down the dark side of a fairy tale path. Gabby and I looked through the clearance books and found a few for a $1.00. Score! Then I decided that we would look to see if there were some Olivia books in the kids section since my book was on hold. We go to the kids section, Miss G. began pulling books off the shelf and sitting in one of the chairs and began flipping the pages. While she was doing that, I located a several Olivia book selections for her to choose from. I showed her the selections and of course said "No, I want that one." After each book that she handed to me and made her statement, I would place it back on the shelf. After four or five times of doi

My Little Bubble Guppie

Today was first day of swim class. She has been so excited about getting back into the water ever since her swim evaluation about a month ago. Gabrielle loves the water. She practically spent the first  few months of life floating in her Godparents Kelly and Mike's backyard pool. She is definitely a water baby.  During the class, she was trying to be the teacher assistant and she was there to learn with everyone else. She was showing the other students how to kick and her version of dog paddling. I had to forewarn the swim instructor that she was fearless and to watch her. She  jumped off the edge of the pool, she swam to the bottom of the pool, she splashed, she kicked and squealed. She had a good time. Then I thought even though she was having a good time, did she learn anything? She proved me wrong. At the end of the class the instructor showed all the parents what each student learned. He stated that she already knew how to do her paddle arms, but needed to work on her ki

I Hate Three....(But Love It Too)

I hate three. This is the little song I have been singing the last few months. I enjoyed one and two was not terrible, but I am not really enjoying three and we are only 5 months in. I will say to do not hate my 3 year old, but I do not like all that has come along with her being three. Her attitude. The foot stomp. The hands on the hips. The "No". The ignoring of  what she is being asked to do. It is almost like having a mini-teenager in the home. It just makes my blood pressure and my voice raise (which both need to stop). Everyday with Miss. G, at 3, is not bad. She is an explorer. She wants to be helper. She loves to smile. She is always ready to dance. The emergence of her strong personality. She likes to cuddle. She likes to read and listen to music. She loves her tablet and doing puzzles. I do love her independence and her wiliness to try new things. I do appreciate her lack of fear, but it does scare me. It is just like there are two people living inside of her a

Red, White and Fun

We had our annual 4th of July cookout this past weekend. I must say it was fun as usual. Friends and family came and we ate, we laughed, played and talked some more. I really enjoy entertaining and spending time with our family and friends, the little Miss surely does too. In our neighborhood we have lots of neighbors who set of fireworks. They usually start several days prior to the 4th so we decided that we join in the fun. Our little display was not anything like the neighbors, but it was satisfying for our crowd and definitely wetted our whistle for what we could get for next year. I really love our annual cookout. It seems to get better each year.  We always add something different and new, but always have the crowd favorites. I have already looked ahead for next year to start planning.  Independence Day is truly a day or independence for our country so that we can reflect and celebrate with those that we love and care for the most our family and friend

6 Months Already.......

With the beginning of July, is also the beginning of the realization that 6 months of the year have already passed. 6 months gone and 6 months to go gives me so much to look forward too... 6 months until Christmas. Enjoying of summer evenings on the patio with the hubby. Watching the garden grow and enjoying the benefits. Exploring the outside with the little one. Smelling the change in the weather when autumn arrives. Changing the flags on the house to coordinate with holidays. Going apple and pumpkin picking. A new sorority year beginning. New dance season for the little one. OSU football season starting. GO Bucks! Looking forward to vacation. New changes around the home. The list can go on and on.  Its a time to reset goals and enjoy each day as it comes. Savior each season and explore each new month and all that it has to offer. So right now I say Hello July and good bye to the old and hi to the new.
